The first information about new Echo device became available due to the leaked image.

The first images of a new device of the Echo lineup have appeared in the Internet.  The device codenamed “Knight” is expected to be launched later this month although Amazon hasn’t officially confirmed the plans. The company is reported to be speeding up the launch to stay ahead of Google’s Home speaker.

Evan Blass, professional leaker who is responsible for a good chunk of the mobile phone leaks, has published the image in his Twitter.

As usual, Blass can’t boast of detailed information. It is known this will be the flagship Alexa device in Amazon’s lineup with better sounding speakers comparing to the current Amazon Echo.

According to earlier rumors, the 7-inches touchscreen would articulate. However, the above image doesn’t confirm the information. Instead, the device is angled upwards slightly. Thus, it will be possible to use the device while standing above it if, for example, it were sitting on a countertop.

There is a slightly lighter circle, most possibly a camera, above the screen. There have been so many rumors that the Echo will offer phone calling option. If the circle is a camera, this means that along with voice calls new Echo will allow making video calls.

The new device may upgrade Echo’s capabilities in many spheres, including video chats and online shopping, making the gadget more of a must-have item for homes.

Amazon keeps silent about the price of the device but since it is expected to be superior to the current Amazon Echo, the price will start from $200 but probably will be below $300.

Last month, Amazon launched a device specially for the fashion-forward. The Echo Look, a sleek voice-controlled camera, will allow to quickly take photos and videos of the outfit you’re wearing. The application called Style Check will give personal wardrobe advices “based on current trends and what flatters you” due to the combination of machine learning and the expertise of fashion aficionados.

As artificial intelligence attracts more attention, cameras are getting way smarter. The Echo Look represents a hyper-specialized version of so-called “computer vision” technology. While Snapchat uses the technology for famed selfie filters, and FaceApp for the change of your gender, Echo Look employs computer vision tech as a fashion coach.

The Echo Look is supported by Alexa, the built-in virtual assistant. In general, you pay $199 for a microphone and camera to put in your bedroom. According to Amazon, the photos will be stored only on its computers unless you manually delete them. It is only doubtful if you will trust Alexa to dress you in the morning taking into account that Amazon’s fashion algorithms are still largely unknown.
