Lady Gaga Unveils New Track ‘Million Reasons’ and Shares Lyrics on Twitter

‘Million Reasons’ became the second big release from the fifth solo album Joanne that is coming out later in October.

Lady Gaga has come up with a new single called “Million Reasons”. The live debut took place during the Nashville opening of her Dive Bar Tour. The song is already available via iTunes.

“My first performances were in dive bars,” Gaga said. “This is such an exciting way to connect with my fans and share this music with them”.

The song was created in cooperation with Mark Ronson, BloodPop and Nashville songwriter Hillary Lindsey. Lindsey backs Gaga with harmonies on the twangy, spare piano-and-guitar-tipped track in the clip above. “All these men – my dad, my boyfriends, all the men in my life – they give me a million reasons, but I just need one good one to stick around,” the singer says about her new single.

Gaga shared the lyrics, so that all her fans could sing along.

“You’re giving me a million reasons to let you go/ You’re giving me a million reasons to quit the show/ You’re giving me a million reasons/ Give me a million reasons / Giving me a million reasons/ About a million reasons,” Gaga sings.

During the show, Gaga also performed new songs “Sinner’s Prayer” and “A-Yo” from Joanne and closed the set with “Perfect Illusion.”

The single “Million Reasons” became the second release from the fifth solo album Joanne that is coming out soon. The first song, “Perfect Illusion”, was created in collaboration with Mark Ronson, BloodPop, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Josh Homme.

Gaga once talked about her inspiration at the iHeartRadio Music Summit. “The song is about modern ecstasy… We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it… I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”

“Perfect Illusion” has become Lady Gaga’s first release for almost three years. It made a noise in the world reaching the tops of Billboard and Twitter Top Tracks weeks before its arrival.

“I don’t need eyes to see/ I felt you touchin’ me/ High like amphetamine/ Maybe you’re just a dream,” she sings on the song. There were many who wondered if it’s about her split with Taylor Kinney, with lyrics like “It wasn’t love/ It was a perfect illusion.”

The so eagerly awaited album Joanne is scheduled for release on October 21. It is Gaga’s first album since 2013’s experimental ArtPop. The album is called in honor of the singer’s aunt who died from lupus at the age of 19. Reportedly, Gaga has promised a more roots-y sound that is a product of her returning home for some time and removing herself from the limelight for a bit.
