Travelling is a great gift, a unique opportunity that we have to explore the world. Having quite a lot of stressful situations in daily life, we naturally want to relax during a vacation. However, in reality we do a lot of work while preparing to go travelling – getting recommendations from friends, professional travel guides, or online reviews, deciding how to squeeze everything into a finite window of time. Indeed, no wonder that we finish by feeling under stress again.
It is interesting that a GoodThink has conducted a study and proved that 74% of travelers feel the most stressful aspect of travel is figuring out the details. Google has used the information to develop a new mobile app to help travelers. Google Trips is a real personalized tour guide in your pocket that helps to instantly plan each day of the trip with just a few taps of your finger.
Each trip, though unique and unforgettable for each traveler, still contains key parts, including day plans, reservations, things to do, food & drink, and more. Google Trips has a variety of day plans featuring the most popular daily itineraries for the top 200 cities in the world most popular with tourists. The app automatically assembles the most popular sights, attractions, and local gems into a full dayâs tour. The tours are developed based on historic visits by other travelers. For example, a tour âEixample Districtâ in Barcelona will allow you not to miss buildings by Antoni Gaudi, the famous Spanish architect.
We are all very different and what seems to be interesting for one person will be absolutely dull for another. Google Trips helps to organize your trip around places you already know you want to visit. âSay your friends told you that you have to see the Sagrada Familia â and youâre looking for suggestions on things to do around that spot. Press the â+â button in the day plans tile to jump into a map view containing all the top attractions in your destination. If youâre time constrained, you can specify above the map whether you have just the morning or afternoon, versus a full day. Then simply tap and pin the Sagrada Familia to build your itinerary around it. Google Trips automatically fills in the day for youâ, says Google.
There is a âmagic wandâ button for more nearby sights. Each tap of the âmagic wandâ instantly gives you a new itinerary with updated nearby, so you can build your own custom itinerary in minutes.
Travelers can really find it hard to manage all flight, hotel, car and restaurant reservations. Google Trips automatically gathers all travel reservations from Gmail and organize them into individual trips, so that you donât need to search and dig up those emails anymore. All information is collected within the reservations tile, even without WiFi.
Google Trips is available offline by downloading each trip that you are interested in.
