More and more details are surfacing making new headlines.

Update on May 31, 2016 at 9: 20 PM: Amber Heard has given a statement to Los Angeles police in which she accused Johnny Depp of domestic violence, her lawyers said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

Heard’s attorneys said in a statement that in an attempt to “protect her privacy and Johnny’s career” the actress initially declined to report to police a May 21 incident between her and Depp that she claimed left her with a bruised eye.

“Johnny’s team has forced Amber to give a statement to the LAPD to set the record straight as to the true facts …,” Heard’s lawyers Samantha Spector and Joseph P. Koenig said. “Amber has suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny,” they added.

The news about the upcoming divorce of the two celebrities appeared just a few days ago, but since it has been getting uglier and uglier.

Johny Depp’s friends and family have come out in support of the actor, his ex-wife-to-be’s camp has been forced to fire back.

When Heard filed for divorce last Monday, Depp’s response was swift and clear. “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” a representative for Depp said last Thursday.

“Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly,” he added.

However, some time later Heard accused her husband of domestic abuse, presenting photographic evidence of bruises in order to (successfully) petition for a restraining order.

Depp was immediately backed by his family and friends. His ex-wife and mother of his children took to the social nets to defend the actor, saying: “[Depp] is a sensitive, loving and loved person, and I believe with all my heart that these recent allegations being made are outrageous. In all these years I have known Johnny he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years.”

Meanwhile, a source told reporters that “with Amber, there has been nonstop drama. [Johnny and Amber] are just not good together. They had lots of problems before they got married, and should have never gotten married. Their personalities are just not compatible.”

He went on, adding that the actress exacerbated Depp’s “jealousy issues,” and that Depp is “very insecure when it comes to Amber.”

The 30-year-old actress stands to step away from her 15-month marriage to Depp, 52, with at least $US20 million ($28 million).

She requested $US50,000 a month in spousal support, $US125,000 for her legal fees, their Los Angeles penthouse, his Range Rover and sole custody of their Yorkshire terriers.

“Forbes has listed Depp as the 12th-richest actor of 2015, with a net worth of $US400 million. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise alone has earned a reported $US1 billion,” news.com.au writes.

“During his marriage to Heard, Depp got an estimated $US61 million to appear in the poorly reviewed Alice Through the Looking Glass and $US40 million to star in Black Mass, in which he won raves playing Boston gangster Whitey Bulger.”

A qualified lawyer calculated that Heard could extract even more money out if Depp’s team wants to settle quickly.

“It’s highly unlikely she’ll make much, based on the brevity of the marriage,” lawyer Laurence Greenberg said. “However, the allegations of domestic abuse might encourage a quick and possibly lucrative settlement.”

Depp’s high-powered divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who has also won some celebrity cases, said Heard is “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”

“Her current application for a temporary restraining order along with her financial requests appears to be in response to the negative media attention she received earlier this week after filing for divorce,” Wasser wrote.

“Yet Johnny cannot protect himself or Amber from media scrutiny, and Amber’s anger certainly cannot drive this dissolution proceeding.”
