College football player, wrestler, actor, wedding officiant and superhuman eater: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is quite the talented fellow. But this time the actor surprised the whole world not by demonstrating his force and power, but by taking numerous selfies in limited time.
During the London premiere of “San Andreas” the “Fast and Furious” star attempted to set the Guinness World Record for taking the most selfies in under three minutes. And, as is the case with everything The Rock sets out to do, he crushed it.
Johnson posted a video of his victory on Instagram Friday.
“We just set a NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for most self-portraits (selfies) taken in record time (yup, a selfie world record exists and your arm gets a helluva workout),” he wrote in the caption.
The star took a total of 105 selfies with fans on the red carpet, the Guinness World Records site confirms.
A Guinness World Records adjudicator was reportedly on hand to ensure that “selfie rules were followed.” The full face and neck of participants had to be visible in all the shots, with “no blurring.”
For those who think that breaking such a record is quite simple: Guinness World Records adjudicator Mark McKinley was on hand to make sure official selfie rules were followed – including that the full face and neck of the participants are visible and that the images are focused.
Not London only welcomed the actor, last Saturday he received a VERY warm welcome from fans in Mexico City.
The 42-year-old attended the premiere of “San Andreas” in the Mexican metropolis, and was greeted by a very eager audience.
The Furious Seven star expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by tooking to Instagram, saying: “thank you for all the tequila, kisses and gifts;)”
He added: “Hard to put into words what this kind of powerful love from fans means to me. As a man, it’s an incredibly humbling & inspiring experience.”
“MEXICO CITY and the entire country of MEXICO thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this one of the greatest events I’ve ever experienced. #TeQuieroMexico#SanAndreasWorldTour.”
The father-of-one also shared a photo in which he is taking a selfie with the massive crowd behind him.
He captioned it: “Long arm selfie king.. #MadnessAndLoveInMexico#SanAndreasWorldTour #TerreMoto #LaFalla#DeSanAndres”
“At the premiere, Dwayne posed next to a helicopter that was made to look as though it had smashed into the ground. He also posed with a Mexican fire department squad. Dwayne looked sharp and larger than life in a dark grey suit over a printed dress shirt featuring a floral design, along with a textured tie,” The Daily Mail describes the actor’s outfit.
Dwayne’s new film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 29. It concerns the aftermath of a massive earthquake along the San Andreas Fault.
The Rock performs Ray, a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot, whom is hovering in his helicopter when the earthquake hits.
