Miley Cyrus has dropped half a million bucks at a charity event that benefits the American Foundation for AIDS Research, all while getting drunk and wearing what appears to be backpack straps made out of leather.
“When it came to the charity auction portion of the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Miley was the fiercest of them all, outbidding everyone to the tune of $300,000 for a nude woman print by photographer Ryan McGinley,” reports Perez Hilton. “Later Miley, RiRi, and honoree Tom Ford donated another $200k each to the organization!”
“I’m a little drunk. That’s why I’m a half a million deep,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer later confessed, adding seriously: “If I’m going to have a voice I would like to start an open dialogue about prevention and awareness and how people in the world have been effected by HIV and AIDS. Hopefully, I could break down people’s walls that have been built up around sexuality. I’m obviously not too embarrassed to talk about these things, especially with young people.”
“I had fun tonight wit all deeeeez weirdos!” Cyrus later said, posting on Instagram a photo alongside Ford and Rihanna, who presented the designer with amfAR’s Inspiration Award. “When the time comes there is a cure for HIV/AIDS, I am so happy to know we had something to do with that!”
Speaking of her provocative image the former Disney actress said in one of her interviews: “I don’t give a sh–. I’m not Disney, where they have, like, an Asian girl, a black girl, and a white girl, to be politically correct, and, like, everyone has bright-colored T-shirts. You know, it’s like, I’m not making any kind of statement. Anyone that hates on you is always below you, because they’re just jealous of what you have.”
“Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about.”
“I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now – I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way,” she noted, adding her two cents about society’s view on her. “It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down.”
Explaining her bizzare fashion choices and headline-grabbing antics, the 21-year-old singer said: “I just don’t get what half the girls are wearing. Everyone to me seems like Vanna White. I’m trying to tell girls, like, ‘F–k that. You don’t have to wear makeup. You don’t have to have long blonde hair and big t–ties. That’s not what it’s about. It’s, like, personal style.’ I like that I’m associated with sexuality and the kind of punk-rock shit where we just don’t care.”
She also opened up that men tend to try too hard with her, and that she doesn’t want to be taken to fancy restaurants.
“I am, like, not trying to jump into a relationship. I love my music so much and I love what I’m doing so much that, that has become my other half, rather than another person. Also I never leave my house. Why go to a movie when I have a huge television at home. We’ve got a chef here that can make you great food. We don’t need to leave. I would just rather be here where I’m completely locked in and lastly I love weed and love getting stoned,” said Miley during her interview.
