Jiff the Pup is the World’s Fastest Dog on Two Paws [Video]

Meet Jiff, the world’s fastest dog dog on two paws.

TheĀ small and adorableĀ Pomeranian has joined the Guinness World Records book for his incredible speed on two paws.Ā Los Angeles JiffĀ is able toĀ cover 10 meters (32.8 feet) on his hind legs just inĀ 6.56 seconds. Walking on his front paws, he can zip over 5 meters (16.4 feet) in 7.76 seconds.

The folks atĀ GuinnessĀ even postedĀ the video (you can watch it above)Ā to celebrate Jiff and its new book, set for release Sept. 10.Ā It’s the latest but we hope not the last one achievement for the famous canine, who suddenly became world-known sensation. He’s even appeared in a Katy Perry music video, for the song Dark Horse.

The adorable poochĀ has a growing legion of fans on Facebook (1.3 Million likes), Instagram (232,000 followers), Twitter (14k+ followers) and YouTube (500,000+ views).

Apart from filming for music videos and walking on two paws the dog can also shake hands, bow, ride a skateboard and even stamp his own autograph.

Jiff, who perhaps unsurprisingly hails from Los Angeles, California, practices running on his front and hind legs daily.

To set the new records the small dogĀ had to complete the 5m and 10m distances in less thanĀ 10 seconds, which he managed to doĀ at his first attempt.

Unlike Jiff, the dog’s ownersĀ appeared to beĀ a bit more camera shy. They asked to remain anonymous, not wishing to stealĀ attention away from their celebrity pom.

The talented PomeranianĀ is the first reveal from the latestĀ Guinness World RecordsĀ annual released in September, which will mark the 60th anniversary of the worldā€™s best-selling copyright book.

Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief, Craig Glenday, said: ā€œWhen Jiff first walked into our offices, we werenā€™t even sure he was real! He looks like a living, breathing cuddly toy.

“He might be tiny but heā€™s got a huge personality, and his wealth of talents canā€™t be doubted. He certainly deserves his place in the new Guinness World Records book, which is particularly special this year because it marks our 60th anniversary.

“Jiff is just one of the many incredible new record holders in the book, and the first of many special announcements weā€™ll be making.ā€
