Maxim revealed the names of the gorgeous beauties who made their annual Hot 100 list, and the Victoria’s Secret supermodel eclipsed Beyoncé, Selena Gomez,Rihanna, Mila Kunis and many more beauties for the top spot.
“And now the moment you’ve been waiting for. The 2014 number one is…@AngelCandice!,” the mag tweeted.
The South African born replied, “It’s a huge honor to be Maxim’s No. 1, among so many beautiful and talented women! It’s a great feeling.”
Meanwhile, creative director Paul Martinez explained, “Candice Swanepoel is the ideal embodiment of the new Maxim brand: stunning, sophisticated, elegant. It’s not only her flawless beauty and effortless grace that have garnered her the coveted 2014 Hot 100 Number 1 placement, but also her business acumen. She has risen to become one of the world’s top supermodels and has transcended the accolade to become a global brand. It’s hard to imagine a woman more perfect.”
Swanepoel takes the title from Miley Cyrus, who, before any official word had made the rounds, took to Twitter to announce that she had landed the top spot last year.
“Didn’t know this was coming out yet! I’m so happy to be #1 on Maxims HOT 100! #myfanskickass#dreamsdocometrue,” she tweeted at the time, along with a sexy pic from inside the mag. This year, Cyrus got back on the list at No. 25.
Last month stunning Lydia Hearst landed on the cover of the popular magazine, showing off her luxirious forms.
The photos and news come as she spoke about rapidly changing world of fashion in an interview with The Hollywood Life.
“I’m a supermodel, actress and humanitarian – but I’m not one to be summed up or categorized too easily. I have always been drawn to the world of entertainment and self-expression,” she revealed.
“I dreamt of being an actress because I love the challenge and creative process of bringing a character to life on screen; perhaps that’s why I’ve been immensely successful in my modeling career. Modeling is like acting but in a silent film.”
She went on, adding: “I expose my innermost emotions so they project clearly into the lens and ultimately through the still photograph. Working in fashion and entertainment has given me the opportunity to travel the world and see places I may never have visited otherwise.”
“I’ve also been fortunate to work with some of the most iconic designers, photographers and models of all time – and I’ve learned important life lessons along the way.”
“When I was 19, the legendary model and actress Carol Alt told me to stop focusing on the NEXT project, the NEXT opportunity, the NEXT thing – and to live in the NOW,” Hearst recalled. “Because if you keep thinking about tomorrow and what might happen next, you will miss out on everything that is happening now.”
She went on, adding: “When she said that to me I realized that’s what I had been doing. Her words really got me to change my outlook and appreciate the current moment. And, I have had more success because I haven’t been so worried about what’s going to happen next.”
