After 18-year-old Alisa Finley, who suffers brain cancer, revealed to the whole world that she wanted nothing more in life than to kiss the movie star.
Channing Tatum was the one who blew her a kiss via video message, part of which he shot during the Oscars and combined with footage of himself and his wife dedicating a version of Pharrell’s hit “Happy” to her.
The Kansas teen is currently battling stage-four brain cancer, and “kiss Channing Tatum” is No. 1 on a 48-item bucket list that her loved ones posted to the Facebook page that they created in her honor, called “Alisa’s Butterflies.”
“Hey, Alisa, what’s goin’ on, it’s Chan,” Tatum begins in his video, titled “A Kiss for Alisa”. “Hi!” he giggles, the consummate boy moving in for a kiss.
“Just wanted to send you a little vid and say what’s up and hope you’re doing good today and…oh, we were at the Oscars the other night and Pharrell came on and we can’t ever be, you nkow, not dancing and happy when that song comes on…So we made a little ditty, a little song for you…
“Just know that you’re loved and that we’re givin’ you a big ole kiss from over here.” He followed that with a muah.
And now on Alisa’s wish list, which also includes goals such as “kiss under the Eiffel Tower” and “no [Facebook] for 2 weeks,” there’s a note next to No. 1 that reads “almost done.”
Last year the actor was named Sexiest Man Alive 2012 by People Magazine. The Hollywood actor appeared to be quite modest when he heard the news.
“My first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me,’” said the celebrity. “I told Jenna after we’d been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they’d gotten skunked.”
He continued: “She was like, ‘What?’ Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now,” he added, laughing.
Once she got past the initial shock, however, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, 31, told the publication she couldn’t agree more with their choice.
“People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is,” she said of her husband. “He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.”
After being titled as Sexiest Man 2012, Channing Tatum was immediately congratulated by his co-stars via social networking sites.
“@channingtatum you’ve always been the sexiest man alive to me! (Congrats pal!),” tweeted Tatum’s ‘21 Jump Street’ costar Jonah Hill, posting a photo of himself licking the People magazine cover.
“Tell us something we don’t know!! Congrats Chan!! @channingtatum #SexiestManAlive,”Haylie Duff wrote.
‘What I Like About You’ star Nick Zano said, “Congratulations to the genetics of @kaytatum & Glen for creating the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ @channingtatum.”
The title was not the only one the actor earned in 2012. GQ announced Tatum is Movie Star of the Year.
“They were like: ‘Grind it. If you love it, grind it.’ I did. And a lot of people who didn’t grind it, it’s not that they’re not in a good place, but I’m in a better place,” the ‘Magic Mike’ actor told the publication of the advice he received from seasoned vets in Hollywood.
