iPhone Air Concept Shows What an iPad-like iPhone 6 Design Would Look Like [Video]

British graphic designer Sam Beckett has once again showed his vision of the much-rumored iPhone 6 by releasing a new concept video of his ‘iPhone Air.’

It feels like one of the most realistic iPhone 6 concept ever. The new concept video comes from British graphic designer Sam Beckett, who has created some impressively accurate iPhone concepts in the past using nothing more than Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects and Final Cut Pro X.

The video kick off with some playful piano music as the so-called iPhone Air spins around. Then it shows all of the components of the device coming together, including a Touch ID sensor that is better tailored into the rest of the construction.

The concept introduces an iPhone that is only 8 percent larger than the iPhone 5s, but it features a 17 percent larger display with 68 percent more pixels. Beckett believes that the iPhone Air will sport a 4.7-inch screen supporting a resolution of 1920x1080p — that’s 468ppi.This would represent a 17 percent jump in size with 68 percent more pixels.

There is speculation that the tech giant is working on two versions of the iPhone 6. The first may have a stronger 4.7-inch sapphire crystal display and the other one may come with a screen as large as 5.7 inches to better compete against Android phablets like the Galaxy Note 3.

According to the clip creator, reason the 4.7-inch concept doesn’t look much larger than the iPhone 5s is because “some extra space could be potentially utilized by reducing the width of the side bezels and by also slimming down the top and bottom of the phone frame.”

As a result, the iPhone Air mock is only 10 percent larger while being 9 percent thinner. The depth of the iPhone Air’s conceptualized version is 7mm, coming in 0.6mm thinner than its predecessor.

Beckett also draws on a number of other rumors for the video, suggesting the iPhone 6 will include a 10-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and a faster A8 chip, which is reportedly already in production with TSMC.

In 2012 Beckett, who works for an app developer, made an iPhone 5 concept video SaveFrom.net that was both accurate and ahead of its time. In the video, he correctly predicts some things about the iPhone 5, like the new dock connector and larger display, and he even predicts some aspects of the iPhone 5S and iOS 7, like the fingerprint scanner and the control center.

Beckett says he believes that the next iPhone will be called the Air, not the 6 because “Apple has demonstrated that they think the iPhone is a mature enough device to warrant two versions (5S and 5C)” and he feels that “more distinctive branding, much like the iPad Mini and Air will help to reinforce the two product lines.”

Another iPhone 6 concept comes from ADR Studio that shows a familiar iPhone look, but with a design similar to Macbook air style. ADR Studio calls this the iPhone L, a Large step beyond, thanks to a bigger display.

The iPhone 6 concept shows an iPhone with a 4.7-inch display. There is no mention of the resolution on this concept, but most rumors suggest Apple will increase the iPhone 6 display resolution to at least 1280 x 720 on a 4.7-inch model, says GottaBeMobile.
