Seahawks Win Super Bowl XLVIII with 43-8 Rout of Broncos [Video]

Seahawks won Super Bowl 2014, leaving behid destroyed Broncos.

Defense wins championships, and the NFL has not seen a defense like Seattle’s in a long time.

The Seahawks took home their first Super Bowl cup and title yeaterday in overpowering fashion, defeating Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 43-8.

As The Huffington Post reports, “that relentless defense, the NFL’s stingiest, never let the five-time MVP get going, disarming the highest-scoring offense in league history.”

Starting from the first play of the intense game, Seattle’s victory seemed to be doubtless. They ended the first half of the match with  22-0, added two further touchdowns in the third and eventually rolled out winners 43-8.

As The Independent writes, “the game was decided not by individual superstars but by team collectives. Denver’s was error-strewn throughout. ”

Seattle’s defense – the vaunted LOB or ‘Legion of Boom’ – lowered the boom. Focusing on its opponents’ every single mistake, it put scarcely a foot wrong throughout.

The game became the turning point in the career of the Broncos’ 37-year old Peyton Manning, chasing not just his second Super Bowl ring but also national recognition as the greatest quarterback of this era.

He performed respectably, completing 34 of 49 (280 yards), compared with the Seahawks’ young Russell Wilson with 18 for 25 for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

However figures this time told only a fraction of the story. Seattle’s was a team victory.

“We grew together through the season,” said the 25-year-old Wilson after the game. He went on, adding: “Why not you, was my father’s message to me. This time we thought, ‘why not us?’”

The winner of the MVP title at this year’s Super Bowl was the Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith, it was announced soon after the game.

“No way. It felt good though. I woke up jumping, bouncing, and it just turned out great for us tonight,” Malcolm said when asked whether  he expected the game to end like this.

Being chosen as the MVP of the game, he got a new Chevrolet 2014 High Country Silverado premium truck.

As far as halftime show is considered, it should be noticed that Bruno Mars demonstrated an amazing and extremely-eneretic performance.

The popular singer took to the stage for a drum solo when having a children’s chorus sing his verse from the song “Billionaire” .

Later the 28-year-old star went into his songs “Locked Out of Heaven,” “Treasure,” “Runaway Baby,” “Give it Away” with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and finally his song “Just the Way You Are,” which began with a tribute to army families.

The band, with its shirtless lead singer Anthony Kiedis, Josh Klinghoffer, and bassist Michael “Flea” Balzary, rocked out to their hit “Give it Away” alongside Mars. Several of them even went shirtless during the show despite of the low temperatures.

“Bid for @RHCPchad’s drum kits used at the @nfl Super Bowl Halftime Show now #SB48″ the Red Hot Chilly Peppers tweeted soon after their astonishing performance.

The Half Time show deserve a unique status of an American institution, with everyone from music stars and legend, from Michael Jackson to The Rolling Stones having performed.
