The A-list star couple has been married for six years but unfortunately could not make it work. The divorce has been on-going for a long while but now Kutcher and Moore are able to move on with their lives, as they now are officially divorced.
It took Kutcher and Moore, almost a year to make their divorce final. The final papers were signed by Kutcher on Nov. 14 and by Moore on Nov. 6 before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon finalized the couple’s split on Tuesday.
Kutcher, 35, filed the divorce petition last January – citing irreconcilable differences – but Moore, 51, made it clear in November 2011 that the marriage was over.
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore said in her announcement.
Allegedly, the reason for their split was Kutcher’s betrayal on Moore with a San Diego woman. It occurred in September, when Moore was in New York City premiering a movie. The whole situation happened on the weekend of their six-year anniversary. That following November Moore filed for divorce from Kutcher. Since 2011, the two have been arguing about the terms.
“As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” she at the time.
“This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”
In the wake of Moore’s announcement of their split two years ago, Kutcher tweeted: “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK”.
The former couple has no children together. During their marriage, they started a foundation to combat sexual exploitation of girls around the globe.
Kutcher and his That ‘70s Show costar Mila Kunis have been dating since April 2012. Kunis recently sparked engagement rumors when she stepped out in L.A. in September wearing a ring on her engagement finger. He is one of television’s best paid performers thanks to the gig he got on CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” after Charlie Sheen’s implosion.
Moore starred in 2011’s “Margin Call” and appears in the upcoming film “Very Good Girls.” She was previously married to Bruce Willis and the pair had three daughters.
As E!Online reports, at the beginning of 2013 Moore began dating restaurateur Harry Morton, who was 20 years her junior. The couple dated for about six months before Moore moved on to romancing Harry’s father, restaurant mogul Peter Morton. Morton co-founded the Hard Rock Café and is also said to be a descendant of the Morton’s Steakhouse chain.
Considering Kutcher was fifteen years younger than Moore, it’s been reported that she is finally dating in her age bracket. Probably now Kutcher and Moore can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday without the stress of their divorce in the back of their minds.
