TV’s favorite girl next door, Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel, is officially off the market. The 32-year-old Fishel tied the knot with her boyfriend of nearly five years, Tim Belusko, 25, on Saturday, her rep confirmed to People magazine.
“The most important thing is that the day feels authentic to us,” the bride recently told People. “We’re traditional, but also a bit wacky!”
The newlyweds celebrated the big day with a candlelit ceremony that took place on a small staircase. The couple said their “I dos” in front of over 200 guests at wedding venue Vibiana, a former cathedral, in a “short and sweet” ceremony.
Fishel, wore a lace Enzoani strapless gown and was escorted down the aisle by her father, Rick Fishel, to the tune of “Forever” by Brian Culbertson. According to some reports, her bouquet consisted of purple flowers and her six bridesmaids wore midnight blue dresses, which tied in with the overall color theme.
After the couple exchanged vows, they joined their guests — including Boy Meets World co-star Ben Savage — in a courtyard for cocktails.
The actress – famous for her portrayal of Topanga Lawrence – shared with the US Magazine about the kind of wedding she was planning.
“Midnight blue is my main color,” she said. “I think it’s perfect for a this-time-of-year wedding. Kind of big, like 250 people. It’s going to be really fun! I’m really excited about it.”
She also explained that her new husband Tim is perfectly accepting of her long term on-screen history with Ben.
“He knows that Ben and I have been together for a long time as an on-screen couple,” Danielle told Us Weekly, “and to a certain extent when you’ve been with someone for 20 years like that, it’s impossible to have none of that rub off a little bit in person.”
Fishel announced her engagement in December via her Tumblr page. She also wrote in the post that she had decided to go back to college, which is the reason the happy couple met and fell in love.
Though she worried she’d be the “old lady in class,” the actress went back to school at age 27. “I persevered and sometimes I wasn’t the oldest person in class, some of the whisperers became good friends, and I did so well in math, I even became a tutor. And that is how I met my fiance,” she shared.
Devoted “Boy Meets World” fans, who have always hoped Cory and Topanga would be an item in real life, will still get to see Fishel and Ben Savage, 33, play husband and wife on the spin-off “Girl Meets World,” even if their sparks never really flew.
“We went on one date, when I was about 15, and by the time the dinner was over we realized mutually that we were more like family than lovers,” Fishel told Maxim magazine about her longtime on-screen love.
Fishel’s “Boy Meets World” co-star Rider Strong is also set to wed this weekend. People confirmed that he will tie the knot with Alexandra Berreto in Oregon on Sunday.
