Apple started its pre-order sales of their new colorful iPhones today.

Customers in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and the UK who order their phones now should begin receiving them on September 20th, the same day that Apple is due to release the higher-end iPhone 5S. Photo: HOG Gizmos/Flickr

The new iPhones, 5S and 5C, were announced earlier this week, and now Apple has officially began accepting pre-orders for the colorful iPhone 5C.

This launch could be Apple’s biggest yet. First, it’s putting two new iPhone models on sale for the first time. Second, both are being released in 11 countries simultaneously on September 20, with a wider release in other regions to follow, says CNet.

First, the Apple Online Store provides iDevice users with a one-stop location for iPhone 5c preordering in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, and China.

The news that Apple will for the first time release new iPhones in China on launch day has been hugely significant, marking its commitment to the country.

The phone starts at $99 with a two-year contract for a 16GB model, and $199 with a two-year contract for a 32GB model (both models are also available unlocked for $549 and $649, respectively).

US retailers, including Walmart and Best Buy, began to take orders on the new phone, which starts at $99 with a two-year contract. Walmart actually has the lowest price on the phone; the 16GB model starts at $79 with a two-year contract.

In the UK the iPhone 5S is available on contract with a number of carriers, the handset is also available SIM free, and the 16GB model retails for £469 for the 16GB model and £549 for the 32GB model, these are the off contract prices.

The delivery date for all variants is September 20, which is also when the iPhone 5S becomes available in stores.

It’s also possible to trade old iDevices in with Apple in order to receive a Gift Card towards your iPhone 5c preorder. More than $300 is being offered for good-quality iPhone 5 handsets, and additional information can be found at Apple’s Reuse and Recycling Program Web page.

However, Apple isn’t offering a preorder option for the iPhone 5S, its new high-end model that starts at $199 and adds new hardware features like a faster A7 processor, fingerprint security system, improved camera, and a speedier processor with an integrated low-power motion-tracking chip.

The iPhone 5C comes pre-loaded with the new iOS 7 software and in five different colors; blue, green, pink, white and yellow. This phone is very similar to the iPhone 5 version it replaces.

It comes with a 4 inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, it features an Apple A6 processor and comes with an 8 megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens and an LED flash.

The iPhone 5C can record full HD video in 1080p at 30 frames per second, it also feature a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera which is capable of 720p video.

As the ABC News reports, on Wednesday, Sept. 18, Apple will update the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 with its latest software – iOS 7. iOS 7 has a starkly different design than the previous versions of the software, with a new colorful design, icons and apps.
