Jimmy Kimmel Admits ‘Twerking Fail’ Video was Hoax Set up by His Show [Video]

Chat show king claims that he was behind the girl on fire viral vid.

Twerking – defined by the Oxford Dictionary Online as “dancing in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance” – can sometimes be rather dangerous business as one may be suspended from high school and banned from prom, of even get seriously hurt.

Jimmy Kimmel revealed to reporters that he stood behind a twerking video which features a girl supposedly catching fire after trying to copy moves, demonstrated by Miley Cyrus during VMA Awards 2013.

The video dubbed “Worst Twerk Fail EVER – Girl Catches On Fire!” sees the girl’s twerking movements going completely wrong when she is knocked over onto a table full of candles, reports Entertainment Wise.

The clip has since been watched more than 9 million in one week with stars like Nina Dobrev taking to Twitter to re-post the video.

The chat show star has initially invited the girl, known as Caitlin Heller, to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and said “he got the full unedited version of the video, which shows what happens after the twerk fail.”

As it turns out, the 45-year-old is the one who comes to the girl’s rescue and extinguishes the fire on her pants.

The chat show host admitted that the infamous video was made two months ago, but his team didn’t not post it on the show’s YouTube page or promote it in any way.

It just “let the magic happen,” he said. By the way, as it appeared later, Caitlin isn’t a real name of the twerking girl, her real name is Daphne Avalon.

“Even though the video was fake, that did not stop hundreds of news outlets from showing it. Some people even blamed Miley Cyrus, as if this was her fault,” Kimmel added.

Kimmel went on and showed a montage of several TV shows which reported on the twerk fail, saying at the end of it, “Good thing nothing is happening in Syria right now.”

He also told Avalon, “Thank you for helping us deceive the world and hopefully put an end to twerking forever.”

The 20-year-old former Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, lit up the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center on Sunday, Aug. 25, with a rendition of her summer hit “We Can’t Stop.”

She has never been a girl to do some ballroom dancing in a traditional gown, so for her eye popping performance at the MTV Video Music Awards she brought her best twerking outfit .

Scantily dressed in a furry teddy bear leotard that showed off her long legs and toned arms, Miley Cyrus emerged on the stage from a large bear and sang her hit “We Can’t Stop” as a chorus line of bears danced in the background.

After she was joined by Robin Thicke sang “Blurred Lines” together , Miley embraced her  scandalous side and stripped off her bear-emblazoned leotard and wore nude PVC hot pants and boob tube which was more revealing than anyone could have ever expected, to be quite honest.

Her actions had more serious consequences, however. Actor Liam Hemsworth is reportedly so upset with fiancee Miley Cyrus’ habits that he wants to end relationship with her.
