‘N Sync has finally answered all the fans’ prayers as they reunited for a performance at MTV’s Music Video Awards on Sunday night.
Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick joined Justin Timberlake at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for a highly anticipated reunion.
After clips of Timberlake’s music videos including “Cry Me a River”, “Like I Love You”, “Rock Your Body” and “Mirrors” showed on the big screen, the singertook the stage on Sundayto perform his latest single, “Take Back the Night.”
As Timberlake made his way into the venue during “SexyBack,” the singer declared, “I still run this b—-!,” and went into his first solo single off “Justified”, “Like I Love You,” and into an excerpt of his hit “My Love.”
Moving backwards in time, Timberlake, who was named as the “President of Pop” by show host Jummy Falon, then belted out his old singles “Cry Me a River,” “Senorita” and “Rock Your Body” as anticipation for the forthcoming ‘N Sync reunion loomed.
When the performer was receiving the evening’s biggest honor, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which is considered to be a lifetime achievement honor, the former boy band appeared rising from the stage to the chords of Timberlake’s “Pusher Love Girl”.
‘N sync took spectators back to the days when its pop hits such as “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye,” both of which got a quick run-through, allowed them to win the race of the late ’90s pop boy band craze that carried into the millennium.
“I don’t deserve the award, but I’m not going to give it back,” Timberlake said during his acceptance speech before thanking his bandmates.
“Half of the Moonmen I’ve ever won, I won with those four guys. So above all else, I’m going to share this — we can keep it at my house — but I’m going to share this award with them.”
When the band were performing their hits such celebrities as Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift  and even Lady Gaga were jumping up and down to well-known tunes. And, as it was found out later, they weren’t the only famous fans amazed by the long awaited reunion.
“I literally just died seeing Nsync…I’m so happy im in tears,” wrote on his Twitter account Jwoww.
Kelly Osbourne agreed:Â “Oh my godÂ
#NYSNCÂ Im jumping up and down in my bedroom like Im in Junior High again!”
The 32-year-old Timberlake appeared to be the top winner on Sunday as he was nominated for six awards, tied with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
The singer was up for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video, and Best Editing for “Mirrors,” and Best Collaboration and Best Direction for “Suit & Tie” with Jay-Z.
Both “Mirrors” and “Suit & Tie” were included in the singer’s 2013 comeback album, “The 20/20 Experience,” which soon became extra popular bringing for Timberlake success, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and getting certified platinum.
The singer plans to release his follow-up to the project, “The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2” in September.
