VMA 2013: Miley Cyrus Performance Of ‘We Can’t Stop’ Hits MTV [Video]

The former Disney star rocked the stage MTV Video Music Awards with her outrageous performance and too controversial outfit, of course.

Miley Cyrus, who earlier pleased her devoted fans by revealing the pink neon and ’80s–inspired cover to her upcoming Bangerz album, had promised that she was out to pull off “the best VMA performance of all time” and that she was plotting a stunt to top the infamous moment when Madonna and Britney Spears puckered up onstage.

“We’ve got better in store for you guys, it’s going be even crazier than the kiss,” she declared, going on to note that her brand-new single, “Wrecking Ball,” was already tearing up the charts.

So it happened, as no one can stop Miley. The 20-year-old former Hannah Montana star lit up the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center on Sunday, Aug. 25, with a rendition of her summer hit “We Can’t Stop.”

Miley Cyrus has never been a girl to do some ballroom dancing in a traditional gown, so for her eye popping performance at the MTV Video Music Awards she brought her best twerking outfit .

Scantily dressed in a furry teddy bear leotard that showed off her long legs and toned arms, Miley Cyrus emerged on the stage from a large bear and sang her hit “We Can’t Stop” as a chorus line of bears danced in the background.

After she was joined by Robin Thicke sang “Blurred Lines” together , Miley embraced her  scandalous side and stripped off her bear-emblazoned leotard and wore nude PVC hot pants and boob tube which was more revealing than anyone could have ever expected, to be quite honest.

Thicke, meanwhile, clad in a black-and-white-striped suit, tried to carry on with the performance as Cyrus twerked around him and used a foam finger to gesture lewdly around the stage.

“Miley better go get a pregnancy test after doing all that grinding,” joked comedian Kevin Hart after their performance.

The singer’s racy track includes references to molly and cocaine, but MTV bleeped the “molly” reference during the performance.

Thicke then made his debut VMA performance one to remember as he brought out rappers 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar for the remixed version of his new single “Give It 2 U.”

Embracing the same football referee–themed vibe as the song’s video, 2 Chainz was decked out in a flamboyant black-and-white outfit while Thicke surrounded himself with a gaggle of booty-empowered cheerleaders for his final winning-performance pose, MTV  News says.

After Miley’s shocking performance and behavior on stage many of her fellow colleagues took Twitter to share their reaction. Most of the comments were disapproving.

“Remind me to never let my kids into showbiz… Thanks,” Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon wrote.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posted, “@LiamHemsworth What’d ya think of @MileyCyrus’s #VMAs performance???? »

Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen joked, “Miley Cyrus made a lot of people pregnant tonight.”

ILYICH was quiet shocked saying “Miley Cyrus is a perfect example of whats wrong with the world today…I mean everything. Content, costume, etc.. This is whats IN….”

Cyrus was tied with Thicke, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars for the second-most 2013 VMA nominations with four; Macklemore and Ryan Lewis led with six nods.
