One the Hollywood most known couples, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, are splitting up after 13 years of marriage.
The couple are on the verge of making a public announcement, sources say: “Michael is going to announce the split soon. Catherine is fighting to save the marriage but he’s had it.”
As Celebrity Laundry writes, the actor is sick and tired of letting his wife call all of the shots, especially since he considers her state to be quite unstable.
Catherine’s bipolar disorder has resulted in a few manic episodes that Michael can no longer stand and that can be a real reason for the couple’s split.
The actress has always controlled what happens with her kids but in recent months her husband demonstrated his intensions to be a very hands on father.
Last week Michael and the children, Dylan Michael Douglas, 13, and 10-year-old daughter Carys Zeta Douglas, flew to Germany without Catherine’s approval but she could do nothing to stop the father and the kids.
Zeta Jones and Douglas have not been spotted together in public for four months.
Reports of a marriage crisis were denied at the moment but Michael’s spokesman would only say yesterday: “I won’t talk about that.”
By the way, a deade ago in one of her interiews Catherine revealed that she was not going to divorce. Ever.
“I find divorces repulsive,” she said at the time. “I will never get divorced, never.”
The actress insisted that it was “in her genes” to be married for life and that the subject of divorce would never be entertained.
Asked how she could be so sure, she explained: “I grew up in a small, strictly-Catholic fishing village on the coast of Wales.”
“The people there have a different attitude to life than those in Hollywood – people stick together more,” Zeta Jones added.
However, Douglas used to be highly discussed because of his numerous cheatings. The unfaithful husband even was rumored to be sent to an Arizona clinic to be treated for “sex addiction”.
But he suddendly changed when started dating Zeta Jones. A close friend of the couple said at the time: “He hasn’t looked at another woman since he met Catherine and he has every intention of staying faithful to her for ever.”

Recent years have become quite intese ones for the celebrity couple. Michael was diagnosed with throat cancer two years ago, while Catherine was getting treatment for her bipolar disorder.
Speaking of her husband’s courage during his cancer battle, the atress told reporters earlier this year: “I wasn’t as strong as I thought I could have been. I look back and I can’t believe the strength he had.”
However, despite of numerous rumours that the pair are preparing their $300 million divorce, some sources familiar with the matter insisted that divorce has never been on the cards.
“Divorce would be the final straw,” a source said, adding: “It would be too damaging for the children and a strain on both of them emotionally and health wise.”
