Miley Cyrus reveals in a new interview that her raunchy video for We Can’t Stop was even more explicit as she opens up about shedding her squeaky clean past.
The teen superstar rose to fame when she was 14 playing Disney’s squeaky clean Hannah Montana which later ended with a few albums and even a feature length film.
But now Miley Cyrus has revealed to reporters that her provocative video for her hit “We Can’t Stop” was in fact more explicit than the version played in the UK, reports The Daily Mail.
“They’ve edited the video here in the UK. They put a big X over my mouth ’cos I was going like ‘this’ (she makes a gesture for oral sex).”
She went on, adding: “No gyrating, no ***********, there was a lot less. They took out literally everything. I thought the video wasn’t bad, then MTV in the UK sent, like, 18 notes asking for changes.”
Cyrus sparked controversy last month when she relstimeased “We Can’t Stop” – a sexy dance anthem with drug references, writes The Huffington Post.
Though the song’s producer first insisted that the lyric for the song was “dancing with Miley,” not “dancing with molly” – which is a slang term for MDMA – Cyrus has set the record straight. And thus the scandalous teen is singing about rolling.
“It depends who’s doing what. If you’re aged ten [the lyric is] Miley, if you know what I’m talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they’ve already had to edit it so much,” the 20-year-old singerrevealed.
“I don’t think people have a hard time understanding that I’ve grown up. You can Google me and you know what I’m up to — you know what that lyric is saying.”
When asked what she would say to those who believe her video is too provocative, Cyrus, who was wearing her engagement ring from her actor fiancé Liam Hemsworth, immediately replied, referencing the Trayvon Martin case:
“Then I’ll give you an edit. I just think the world is so lame because you can shoot people in a movie and you can let people like [George] Zimmerman off on trial but you can’t have someone going like this [she simulates oral sex gesture], that is so dumb to me,” Cyrus explained.
“The world is such a f–ked up place the last thing people need to worry about is my cute little video for ‘We Can’t Stop,’ you know what I mean?”
She went on, adding: “People need to also remember that Britney when she did Slave or anything it was just a different time so it was less real because Can’t Stop I wanted it to be kind of gritty, like everything is about Instagram, about things going viral and I wanted to celebrate that.”
“But Britney or Madonna never played it safe, none of the best pop artists ever did. I feel like I live in a different world, I live in LA, I see everything,” she concluded.
