Matt Hulbert, who was popping the question to his girlfriend, Janice, had only one guy in mind – Zach Braff. The former “Scrubs” star, 38, helped musician propose to his girlfriend via an adorable video.
Hulbert filmed his girlfriend’s reaction to the video as he showed it to her.
The clip starts out with, “This is how Zach Braff, and a few other very important people, helped me propose to my girlfriend.” Janice at that time is seen sitting down at her computer. Braff shows up onscreen to offer his celebrity endorsement of Matt and then begins to tell Matt Hubert’s then-girlfriend, that he has an important question to ask her.
“Sorry, you caught me listening to one of my favorite songs by my good friend Matt,” Braff says. “Man, he can really rock out. He asked me to help him with a little question he’d like to ask you.”
“Janice, He knows … that he never became the rock star that he promised he would become,” Braff says. “But he’s hoping you can overlook that. And he’d like you to please considered being his wife, being his bride. But before you answer, let’s see what a few other people think you should do.”
It also features an original song by Hulbert and is followed by dozens of clips from the couple’s loved ones. Janice, who lives in the UK, wipes her eyes as she sees family and friends from her home in America telling her to say ‘yes’.
He said he managed to get Braff involved when he was pledging an amount for the actor’s new film, Wish I Was Here.
Braff has a donation page for his film “Wish I Wash Here” on Kickstarter.com, where he has raised more than $3 million. Hubert donated $500 to the film, which earned him a shot out from the celebrity.
“I’ll say or do pretty much whatever you want for 20 seconds,” Braff said on his Kickstarter page, reports International Business Time.
“The team (at creative funding platform Kickstarter) were SO kind and SO amazing they got his part of the video to me super early as they really liked the idea,” he said.
“Like me, Janice is a huge fan of Scrubs so I knew it would blow her away.”
Hubert took to the YouTube page to thank everyone for the positive response he has received. “I wanted to think of a really cool way to propose to my girlfriend, Janice, and this song and video is what I came up with,” Hulbert posted along with the video.
“I wanted to show her that not only do I love her but that she’s loved by all our friends and family too. This was particularly important as she hasn’t been able to see much of her family for 7 years since she moved to the UK and she misses them lots.”
And don’t worry: Janice said yes.
The Internet has already said “I do” to Matt’s work. He responded with a heartfelt note on YouTube: “Thank you all for sharing the love! We’re both totally blown away!”
