The Spike Guys’ Choice Awards is an awards show held since 2007 that awards celebrities with a golden pair of antlers on a wooden pedestal, which is to symbolize the stag which is often associated with masculinity. The winners are chosen based on voting by fans and viewers of the channel.

The categories are unpredictable as they may vary from year to year.  Examples of categories awarded more than twice include: “Jean-Claude Gahd Dam”, “Biggest Ass Kicker”, “Decade of Hotness”, “Funniest M.F.”, “Guy Movie Hall of Fame”, “Guy Movie of the Year”, and “Most Unstoppable Jock”.

Even though the categories may change, one stays forever. Every year, Guys Choice honors a man who personifies what it means to be a guy’s guy with the Guy of the Year award. This year, Guy of the Year goes to award-winning writer, director, and actor Ben Affleck.

The 40-year-old actor took home the trophy for guy of the year during the show, and met up backstage with Vince Vaughn, Jimmy Kimmel, and Snoop Dogg to whoop it up after hitting the stage. Ben’s big award was presented by Clint Eastwood, whose career as an actor and director has been compared to Ben’s since his Oscar-winning success with 2012′s Argo.

Affleck kick-started his career alongside fellow Guy of the Year honoree Matt Damon when they co-wrote and co-starred in the classic 1997 film “Good Will Hunting.” After winning the Oscar for Best Screenplay, Ben went on to become the biggest names in the business.

During that time he’s played every type of guy we aspire to be, and some types that we try to avoid, says the Spike.

Ben has been keeping busy lately while balancing family time with his upcoming projects. The trailer for his next film Runner, Runner was released earlier this week, and has already been getting lots of buzz — Justin Timberlake also stars in the flick, and shared his excitement for the role via Twitter.

Top honors in addition to Affleck include: Jimmy Kimmel receiving the “Funniest M.F.” award from Jennifer Aniston, which puts him in the company of comedic legends and previous winners Chris Rock, Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Seth MacFarlane.

Vince Vaughn being honored for being so money with the coveted “Guycon” award; Kevin Hart’s monumental year on stage celebrated with the first-ever ‘Stand-Up of the Year” award.

The star of HBO series ‘Game of Thrones” Emilia Clarke accepting the “Holy Grail of Hot” award, while Astronaut Buzz Aldrin presented Felix Baumgartner with the ‘Mankind’ award.

The daredevil set the world record for skydiving an estimated 24 miles and was able break the sound barrier without vehicular power after reaching speeds up to 843.6 mph during his descent.

Triumph The Insult Comic Dog will once again return to carry on his tradition of roasting the “Douchebags of the Year.”

Spike TV announced on Wednesday that Smokey And The Bandit star Burt Reynolds will be honored during the show.

Besides Jessica Alba, other presenters included Jake Gyllenhaal, Snoop Dogg Lion, Randy Couture, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Jon Taffer.

Others who were spotted mingling with the crowd were Olivia Wilde and fiance Jason Sudeikis, Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper and Seth MacFarlane among many other celebrities, says the Daily Mail.
