Tamar Braxton and husband Vince Herbert are parents of a baby boy born Thursday, the singer and reality-TV star has announced.
“#tamartian friends HE’S finally here! #bfv #tamarandvince #theone,” she told her followers on Twitter, referring to “Braxton Family Values” and uploaded a picture of a “baby boy” stuffed bear. Coincidentally, Braxton gave birth the same day as the show’s finale.
The couple had kept the baby’s sex in secret until Braxton delivered a child and didn’t mention his name.
“I don’t have that many months left,” the 35-year-old had said on “Good Morning America” back in March, when she announced she was expecting, and boy was she right!
The singer and her husband Vince Herbert first announced their pregnancy only a few months ago, when Braxton was already seven months along.
“Vince and I [were] told we were going to have fertility problems — it was a lot of information — so we had to get comfortable with the fact that it happened on its own,” Braxton told PEOPLE at the time. “We decided [not to announce] until we were both really okay with it — that’s why we waited.”
Now Tamar is receiving numerous congratulations from her family, friends and fans via Twitter.
‘Congratulations to my beautiful baby sister!!! I have a new nephew!!!!!! Hehe!!! I’m soooooooo excited!!!!!’ tweeted her sister Toni.
Tamar’s sister followed up by writing: ‘The #bfv finale AND @TamarBraxtonHer is a Mommie all in one night!! #epic!!’
Even her mother Evelyn Braxton got in the act by tweeting: ‘Congratulations to my @TamarBraxtonHer I am so blessed to have another grandbaby Look at GOD!’
Tamar and her husband, who is a music executive, tied the knotfive years ago. The couple currently star on the WE television reality show Tamar & Vince, which is a spinoff of Braxton Family Values, reports The Daily Mail.
The happy parents also don’t reveal the name of the child. “You’ll find out at the end of the summer,” Braxton said in April.
While the pair have yet to release the baby’s name, Tamar didn’t hold back when describing her pregnancy.
“I have a lot of energy. I’m always upbeat and everyone has to tell me to sit down somewhere, but I feel amazing,” Tamar said in an interview during a March 13 appearance on Good Morning America.
“I think the one that sticks out the most is be the best mom you can be and always focus on your family first,” she added.
The singer also spoke of how her sisters participate in her pregnancy: “My sisters are making me feel more maternal because they’re crazy. They’re giving me advice on how to be a mother and be pregnant.”
“They always have a comment about my shoes, what am I wearing, what am I eating, you need to put your feet up and I’m just like, ‘I’m fine!’ They’re too much,” Braxton added, smiling.
