Oscar winner, self-appointed lifestyle guru, and Beyoncé-song consultant Gwyneth Paltrow has catapulted herself from Star magazine’s Most Hated Celebrity to People’s Most Beautiful Woman in the World.

The blond bombshell and mother-of -two has been awarded the celebrity weekly’s most prestigious honor, but the glamorous star reveals that when it comes to her down time, she likes to keep it comfy and casual.

“I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me,” Paltrow told People about her reaction when she first heard she landed the top spot.

“I had to reread the e-mail three times. I was like, ‘This can’t be true, I’ve developed dyslexia -I’m not reading this right.’ It’s a very iconic cover in American culture, so it’s just amazing.”

“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup, that’s what they’re used to,” she says referring to her husband, Chris Martin, and children Apple, 8, and Moses, 7.

“If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair,” she said.

Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and mother to their two children, credited her workout routine for keeping her looking young and feeling strong.

“I feel my most beautiful when I am truly myself.Meaning, when I accept exactly where I am in time and space, and I’m not judging myself in any way, and I feel that I have the peace that comes with loving yourself and all of your flaws,” she told People.

“I see so much now how beauty really does, as cliché as it sounds, emanate from within.”

The 40-year-old star admits that she owes some of her world-renowned good looks to her workout routine.

“It makes me look younger and feel strong,” the actress, who does the Tracy Anderson Method five days a week, says.

Paltrow takes the People title from her friend, singer Beyoncé Knowles, named in 2012.

As far as her booming career goes, she has her second cookbook, “It’s All Good,” which is No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and her next film, “Iron Man 3,” hitting theaters on May 3.

The 40-year-old actress stars as Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s love interest and assistant-turned-business partner in the Iron Man trilogy. Her co-stars in Iron Man 3 praised People’s proclamation, says the Independent.

“Completely justified. Completely justified. She’s gorgeous,” said Guy Pearce.

“Let me tell you: She is as gracious and beautiful inside as she is outside. She’s got a good heart. She’s got a good heart. A lovely girl,” said Ben Kingsley.

People cornered the supermarket-tabloid market on world-beauty assessment in 1990, when the magazine discovered well-established movie star Michelle Pfeiffer and controversially named her the inaugural World’s Most Beautiful Woman.

Other less-beautiful-than-Gwyneth-Paltrow beautiful women this year include Kerry Washington, Zooey Deschanel, Jane Fonda, and Halle Berry, reports Vanity Fair.

This year’s “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” hit the red carpet in a jaw-dropping number from Antonio Berardi’s Fall 2013 collection.

he floor-length gown featured sheer panels running down the sides, making everyone wonder: How is she avoiding a wardrobe malfunction?
