‘Thor 2: The Dark World’ Trailer Reveals Thor’s Biggest Weakness [Video]

The first official trailer for the highly expected movie Thor 2: The Dark World is finally released.

We now have an opportunity to have a first real look at Thor: The Dark World thanks to last night’s fast-paced trailer, there are lots more mysteries to sort through.

The glimpse of Game of Thrones veteran Alan Taylor’s style with the  battle scenes was reassuring; the suggestion of a love triangle between Thor, Jane and Sif makes fans surprise; Loki’s metal band lead singer hairstyle was totally mystifying, writes Cinema Blend.

The best way to sort all these mysteries is to watch the trailer step by step and admit all the best scenes.

Trailer opens with Thor’s voiceover, as quick scenes of action are shown, along people on Earth running from “something”.

At the very start of the just released video there’s haunting sight, as an alien ship seems to be cutting straight through the Thames and into central London.

Jane, Darcy and some of their colleagues appear to be on the ground as the destruction happens. Is this Malekith attacking our planet to reach the Thor’s love? We yet have no idea whether it’s at the beginning of the film as well.

After Thor returns to Earth to save Jane, he leaves this mysterious emblem burned into the ground, and clearly blows Darcy’s mind. The trailed doesn’t unveil how the god has found a way to escape from Asgard to come back to Earth, but this emblem – which wasn’t indicated in The Avengers – suggests something new is going to happen.

Jane arrives in the Thor’s planet and, understandably, she is highly impressed by what she sees. But she also earns a pretty nasty glare from Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Thor’s pal who’s apparently a bit jealous as he found a human to love. And Jane also spends some time with her prospective mother-in-law (Rene Russo).

The trailer also shows a glass prison, and Loki sits within after the events of The Avengers, reports Screen Rant. Thor comes to him and says “I need your help, but if you betray me, I will kill you.” Loki responds in his smirking manner: ”What is it I must do?”

Thor is shown fighting Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves, as Jane watches. Malekith threatens her, as a beaten Thor eyes the Dark Elf King and screams “Noooo!”

According to the studio, Thor: The Dark World continues the epic tradition of the previous films, as Thor “battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself… ”

“Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.”

The movie is part of Marvel’s “Phase two” series of follow-up films that also includes The Avengers 2 and Iron Man 3, among several others.

In addition to Portman and Hemsworth, who perform the mail roles, most of the original Thor cast will also return for the sequel, including Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, and Kat Dennings.

According to Inquisitr, Christopher Eccleston will play Malekith the Accursed. Iron is Malekith’s kryptonite, and he may experience a special-effects heavy allergic reaction to the metal in the course of the story.
