A representative for Halle Berry, confirmed to the media that the actress is expecting her second child with her fiancé, French actor Olivier Martinez, 47.
“We can confirm that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are expecting a child,” he said.
According to TMZ, Berry is pregnant for three months and has been informed that it will be a baby-boy. Meanwhile, a source close to the Oscar-winner told reporters: “Halle and Olivier are really excited. It’s a blessing. They can’t wait to have a baby together.”
The baby already has got big sister Nahla, Berry’s 5-year-old child with her ex Gabriel Aubry. The ‘Cloud Atlas’ star had previously revealed that her daughter was pining for a sibling – but a sister.
“That’s the thing. [My daughter is] asking me,” Berry admitted. “Every night we pray to God, and she’s so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure! The other one we have to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taking so long, you know?”
The actress went on, adding that she’s grateful that she became a mom past 40. “I’m a much better mother at 46, or 41 when I had her, than if I were 21 or 25. I was just a little baby, just trying to figure it out, trying to figure out who I was, let alone have the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow,” the star said. “I’m so glad I waited.”
By the way, last year Halle Berry’s ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and the father of small Nahla was arrested after getting into an altercation with Martinez.
On February, 23 police responded to a call stating that Aubry, 37, had gotten into a ‘brutal fight’ with her current fiancé, said Los Angeles Police Officer Julie Boyer.
According to police, the man lost his temper when he dropped off their four-year-old daughter Nahla at Berry and Olivier’s mansion in Los Angeles on Thursday morning.
The actress was present at the altercation that occurred on family holiday Thanksgiving, which is traditionally observed by celebrating with family over a turkey dinner.
“There was an incident at Halle Berry’s residence earlier today. There was an altercation, and as a result, a party was injured and transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center,” Sgt. Mike Odle of the Los Angeles Police Department told The New York Daily News.
The offender is charged in a misdemeanor and was released on $20,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s website. “The party has been released from the hospital and is in custody,” Odle confirmed.
A judge had issued a protective order barring Berry’s ex from getting less than 100 yards (100 metres) from the Hollywood star, Martinez and Nahla.
After saying to Gabriel ‘We have to move on,’ the father of the four-year-old child allegedly pushed Martinez and threw a punch at his face, striking him in the shoulder. Martinez fought back, and the struggle ended with Aubry pinned to the ground, an insider revealed to reporters.
