Kate Upton Wants to Make Prom Date with Los Angeles’ Teen Happen [Video]

California teenager Jake Davidson’s video asking supermodel Kate Upton to prom went viral Tuesday after the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model responded to his tweet with a hopeful maybe and that she would check her schedule.

The big night is months away, but Jake Davidson is already prom king.

A high school senior from Los Angeles who posted a YouTube clip asking Kate Upton to his prom was stunned Wednesday when the Sports Illustrated cover girl responded to his request live by phone on TODAY.

After some initial shock and speechlessness, Davidson pitched his invite again promising Upton a great evening of fine dining and a possible extension of his 11 p.m. curfew.

Recovering quickly, Davidson said:

“This just got so much better now that you’re on the phone. I’m telling you it will be a great night, great evening – I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents maybe. I hope you’d be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?”

“I definitely have to check schedules, but you seem like so much fun and if everything works out, I’d love to go with you,’’ Upton said. “I know we’d have a blast.’’

“I can’t believe it,” Davidson replied.

Indeed, Davidson already has a few ideas about how to make prom night more fun for the two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl, starting with renting a “pimped-out old Rolls-Royce,” to be paid for with money he’s saved “through business things.”

“I think I could swing it, hopefully, if some things fall into place, some investments,” the teen told E! News.

“Then maybe go to Nobu, I hear she likes Nobu a lot…Get some flowers involved. I’m still processing it because this has happened so fast. I can get creative. It will be a great night.”

The video invitation had caught the American model’s attention and she responded to Davidson’s video invitation Tuesday evening.

Upton tweeted at Davidson on Tuesday night: “You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I’ll check my schedule ;)”

However, Kate Upton says she’s starting to feel pressure to make a decision about a prom invitation that went viral earlier this week.

“The pressure is on,” the supermodel told Mashable at a Samsung Home Entertainment event on Wednesday in New York.

“I have to rearrange some things, but I hope it will work out,” she added.

The creative video, which amassed 100,000 hits since Tuesday, shows Davidson poolside, reading a copy of Sports Illustrated with Kate Upton on the cover and claiming that he and Upton had a lot in common.

“You’re the ying to my yang. I’m Jewish, 5’9 on a really good day – and I can’t dance at all,” Davidson says in the video.

“You’re Christian, 5’10, and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film – you could say this is destiny.”

No wonder Upton told E! News today at the Samsung TV Launch at the Museum of American Finance in New York that Davidson’s “sweet” invitation was the “cutest” video she’d ever seen.

“I absolutely love the video,’’ Upton said on TODAY. “It was so hilarious and so creative. Thank you so much for doing that, I really appreciate it.’’

Davidson also had a Twitter exchange with Upton heading into Wednesday that made things look promising.
