Shortly after performing “Clique” at England’s Hammersmith Apollo, the rapper went on a short rant and revealed to his fans that he isn’t a fan of Justin Timberlake’s latest single which brought him back to the world of music.
“I hate business people. People get on the phone with me and say ‘What kind of business can I do though?'” West said in an extended diatribe. “I got love for Hov but ain’t fuckin’ with that ‘Suit & Tie.'”
Kanye West and Jay-Z are close friends and collaborators – the duo released an album (“Watch the Throne”) and even went on a tour together.
As The Huffington Post reports, if there has been a falling out, the duo’s fans are probably the ones who will lose the most, as West was a producer on some of Jay-Z’s most famous hits, including ‘Heart of the City’ and ‘Lucifer.’
Since ‘Suit & Tie’ was released, Jay-Z and Timberlake have been remarkably close. The duo performed together the song at the Grammys and a post-Grammys show in Los Angeles.
Timberlake and Jay-Z even recorded a music video for the song and announced a 12-city stadium tour they’ve grandiosely titled Legends of the Summer.
Meanwhile, during his London performance Kanye West didn’t forget to mention the Grammys. “The Grammys can suck my d–k,” he said bluntly on Saturday.
It was not the first time West slammed Grammys. Last year the rapper suggested that this is a racist institution.
“”How many Grammys do we have? … Eighteen Grammys. All in the black categories, though. But nonetheless, 18. I love Maroon 5, but when I lost Best New Artist to Maroon 5 … you know what I mean?” he said at the time.
“Or when ‘Watch the Throne’ and ‘Dark Fantasy,’ neither of them got nominated for Album of the Year, you know what I mean? Or when ‘N—-s in Paris’ didn’t get nominated for Record of the Year, you know what I mean? So don’t expect to see me at the Grammys this year, you know what I mean?!”
It seems like corporate, public relations-friendly business folk are not among the features the rapper posesses.
“Can I sell your drink for you, please?” West asked in a mocking voice on Saturday. “So you can help me put on a better show, please, corporations? Can you please support me, please? Me, Kanye West? I swear I’m a nice n—a now. I swear I’ll put the pink Polo back on.”
The father of a Kim Kardashian’s baby used to wear ruby-style Ralph Lauren Polo shirts, but now he prefers masks and leather kilts.
West also noticed that his infamous “Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time” interruption of Taylor Swift seems to have been forgotten. “They forgot about the whole ‘Beyonce thing’ right?” West asked. “Okay, cool.”
The rapper probably said this in the wake of rumors claiming that Beyonce hates Kim Kardashian, who is pregnant with West’s child.
