Jennifer Lawrence is frontrunner for Best Actress award at the upcoming Oscars, but even before the show is held, she gets the spotlight in new ad campaign for Miss Dior handbags.
She’s developed a reputation as a bit of a firecracker, but in her debut ads for Miss Dior, Jennifer Lawrence is the picture of understated, ladylike elegance.
The French fashion house seems to have expertly predicted just how huge a star Lawrence would become thanks to her much-lauded role in Silver Linings Playbook, writes the Telegraph.

The new face of Miss Dior looks simply stunning in the campaign — and the fact that the ads were released right before the Oscars is perfect timing for the nominee. Whether she’s on the big screen or the red carpet the star is certainly unstoppable these days.
As Dior’s newest darling, Lawrence has donned a variety of gorgeous couture gowns as she’s made her away around the awards season circuit, snapping up many a prize as she went.
The images, released two days before Lawrence walks the Oscars red carpet in what we predict will be another beautiful Christian Dior creation.
The pictures show the actress as a dark brunette, posing in monochromatic looks with the line’s colorful quilted handbags, or bare-shouldered with one statement piece, including a bejeweled necklace and birdcage veil.
Jennifer was captured by famed photog Willy Vanderperre and was styled by Olivier Rizzo for the shoot, in which she flaunts a slew of styles of the chain-link Miss Dior handbag while looking sexy and chic in the Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection designed by Raf Simons.
Raf Simons, creative director of Dior, said: “Like the whole world I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence as a young action hero.”
“I was, of course, struck by her unbelievable onscreen presence in these “larger than life” movies, but I was equally impressed by her powerful portrayal of more emotional and complex characters,” Simons said.
He continued: “Her youth and her classic beauty, but also the feminine strength and complexity that she can portray at such a young age are, for me, very unique and very appealing.”
The ads will debut in Numero magazine later this month, followed by several other publications in April.
The 22-year-old was announced as the new face of the Miss Dior handbag line in October last year, replacing fellow actress Mila Kunis.
The Hunger Games star is in good company, joining the likes of Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard who have also fronted campaigns for Miss Dior.
Marion, who has appeared in campaigns for the Lady Dior bag since ’08, is set to continue her work with the fashion house, says Hollywood Life.
The actress said in a statement: “It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion.”
She continued: “I’m so excited to be working with the fashion house and wear the new creations by Raf Simons. His most recent haute couture and ready-to-wear collections glamorously capture the modern era at Dior.”
