Tiger Woods still knows how to be a chivalrous gentleman.
Although Lindsey Vonn has denied she is romantically linked to Woods, the divorced golfer dispatched his private jet to an airport in Austria on Friday so Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn could fly home to the U.S. to undergo several necessary surgeries.
The Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn, whose record-breaking ski racing career has frequently mixed stirring triumph with frightening spills, tore two knee ligaments in a tumbling crash Tuesday.
Vonn had also broken a bone during her mishap. She was airlifted to a close hospital where her shin bone and knee injuries were diagnosed.
The injuries require surgery as well as a lengthy rehabilitation and could jeopardize Vonn’s 2014 Olympic bid in Sochi, Russia.
However, Vonn has told her fans after the accident that her plans are to return in time for the Sochi Olympics.
The 28-year-old Vonn was photographed boarding the plane Friday morning, three days after she lost balance and careened into a gate at the Alpine World Championship competition in Schladming, says the NY Daily News.
While there was some speculation that Woods might show up in the small village of Schladming, Austria to support Vonn in her quest to win her fifth straight Super G title, Vonn has claimed that she and the golfer are “just friends.”
The blonde athlete – who divorced fellow skier Thomas Vonn last month after 11 years together – “will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time,” she said in a statement last month.
“They’ve been seeing each other for the past 9 months or so regularly,” a source tells Us Weekly of the hush-hush pair. Woods, of course, divorced wife Elin Nordegren in 2010 following his epic cheating scandal.
Shockwaves were sent through the sporting world in December 2009 when it was revealed that Tiger had cheated so many times.
Since their divorce, Elin has dated several men, including wealthy financier Jamie Dingman and professional hockey player Douglas Murray, to whom she was first romantically linked in July 2012.
Tiger, 38, appears to have learnt from his mistakes and is making every effort to go the distance with his new love: “He wants to marry again and thinks Lindsey could be the woman,” a source close to the golfer ha recently revealed the information.
Actually it is believed to be the world’s most notorious womanizer Tiger Woods’ first serious relationship since his marriage to Elin Nordegren. The Masters winner has been dating Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn since November, and he is so crazy about her that he took her on a romantic trip to Antigua, reports the Hollywood Life.
The Swedish model, 33, has kept herself busy with the construction of a stunning $12 million oceanfront home in North Palm Beach, Fla. – funded by her reported $100 million settlement with the golfer, with whom she shares kids Sam, 5, and Charlie, 3.
Tiger’s form has improved since he has been seeing the champion skier: after dropping out of the top 50 in 2011, his ranking is now back up to No. 2.
