Kim Kardashian: ‘I Don’t Want to be Married to Kris When I Have My Baby’

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ divorce saga is still far from end.

Though Kris Humphries has previously acknowledged that prolonging the divorce process could cause stress to pregnant Kim Kardashian, he is in absolutely no rush.

Though his attorney claims that the reality star is trying to use her pregnancy as an excuse to rush the divorce along since there’s a clear due date, Kim says it’s simpler than that.

“I do not want to be married to [Humphries] when I have my baby,” Kim explained in a declaration filed Jan. 24 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

“Immediately upon it becoming known to the public that I was pregnant…I began to see articles in the media with quotes attributed to [Humphries] stating that now that I am pregnant he has ‘got all the power,’ ‘that he is in control of my misery’ and that he is not going ‘to allow’ me to be divorced by the time I have my baby,” she continued in the filing.

“I am requesting the status of my marriage be determined now for not only my health and welfare but also for the health and well-being of my unborn child,” Kardashian stated.

The star went on, adding: “I firmly believe that an immediate dissolution of our marriage will help create a new, full life for me. One chapter will be officially over, and a new one can begin. The same should hold true for [Humphries].”

As E! reports, last month Kardashian’s attorney, Laura Wasser, quoted in another filing Humphries’ attorney as having said during a previous status conference that he would “have some big-time explaining to do if I’m not ready to get a trial date by Feb. 15.”

“Respondent does have some ‘big-time explaining to do’ as Petitioner fully expects Respondent at the [Feb. 15 conference] to once again claim he is not ready to go to trial,” Wasser concluded.

Kardashian’s attorney also stated that Kim has made herself available for deposition numerous times but that her soon-to-be-former husband’s team hasn’t made time to depose her until May 20, citing his busy NBA schedule.

Kardashian and Humphries “agree that their date of separation is Oct. 31, 2011,” Wasser wrote.

“The six-month waiting period has long since elapsed…Respondent has had more than adequate opportunity to prepare his ‘fraud’ claim for trial. Indeed, there is nothing to prepare since there is not a shred of evidence to support the alleged fraud.”

Last week a source close to Kardashians revealed to reporters that knowing that she most likely will still be married to Kris when she gives birth to her baby absolutely sickens her.

“Kris is hell bent on dragging her name through the mud by prolonging the divorce proceedings,” the source said. “She is seeing red because she is still legally married to Kris.”

Kim, who is thought to be around three months pregnant, has already complained about suffering from growing pains and feeling tired.

Kim said: “I take lots of naps. Actually I feel really good. This New Year is just about being happy and healthy and that’s what I plan on doing.”

The reality show star also doesn’t mind if she has a boy or a girl, and claimed: “No preference, I just want a healthy baby.”
