Rihanna looks smoldering in her latest set of photos taken by celebrity snapper Terry Richardson.

Actually it is not a surprise that she’s been chosen as the Rolling Stone’s Jan. 21 cover girl. It makes sense! Between singing with Sting and Bruno Mars at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards AND nabbing three nominations, Rihanna’s probably having the best start of 2013 ever.

And Chris Brown must be mopping his brow right now, because Rihanna is looking hot in these sexy new outtakes from her “Rolling Stone” photo shoot.

One striking photograph features the 24-year-old star holding a hand rolled cigarette while puffing smoke towards the camera.

Terry posted a photo of himself with the singer on his Instagram, and just days before, Rihanna tweeted about shooting a new cover.

Posting a collection of Rolling Stone outtakes on his website, Terry has the “Diamonds” singer naughtily gazing at the camera on a minimalist, all-white set.

Posing in a cream-colored onesie and nonchalantly exhaling smoke, Rihanna looks the very picture of chilled out and comfortable, says MTV News.

With her hair partially shaved at the side, the star shows off several of her tattoos as she poses and pouts in just a flimsy vest top and no bra.

She shows off her curves in another provocative pose which puts her bare legs on show.

Rihanna also shows off a more mature and high fashion look, wearing red lipstick, an embroidered leather jacket and a high-necked white shirt.

This is a great new look for Rihanna, as she looks both sexy and sophisticated!

In the interview with Rolling Stone, the Stay singer talks openly about her much-publicized reunion with on-again ex Chris Brown.

The 24-year-old explained that her happiness is more important than what anyone else thinks about her getting back with a man that beat her black and blue in 2009.

When she decided to give Chris another chance, she knew she would be criticized by fans, friends and the media, but decided to follow her heart.

“I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake,” the singer confessed in her interview.

“After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

She insisted the relationship now between the pair is very different to when they first dated – when Chris was still a teenager.

She explained: ‘When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know.

The couple’s public reconciliation comes less than four years since Brown assaulted Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. Brown plead guilty to assault and performed community service, but he remains on probation.

“He made a mistake, and he’s paid his dues,” Rihanna adds. “He’s paid so much. And I know that’s not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.”
