‘Fast And Furious 6’ Trailer: Vin Diesel Returns Again in Super Bowl 2013 Spot [Video]

“Fast and Furious” 6 trailer debuted during Super Bowl XLVII.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are back again starring in the latest installment of the high-octane franchise. The first “Fast 6” trailer debuted during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.

Directed by Justin Lin, his fourth spin in the director’s chair of a “Fast and Furious” film, “Fast and Furious 6” shows what happened after the events of the previous movie.

With Dom (performed by Vin Diesel) and Brian’s (by Paul Walker) crew flush with $100 million, but can’t return home after a heist portrayed in the previous film, they are presented with an opportunity for redemption.

This time, the crew helps the U.S. government take on villains with some fast cars of their own – and a tank, repots The New York Daily News.

“We’ve graduated to a whole new level,” says Dwayne Johnson’s federal module, who was found working with the former car thieves easier than trying to chase them.

They also have entered special effects budget as in this movie the super drivers manage to bring down a cargo plane.

Back for another lap is the whole crew, including Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gison, Ludacris and totally unexpected returnee Michelle Rodriguez, whose Letty was believed to have bumped off two films ago.

“Do you believe in ghosts?” she asks Toretto at the end of the trailer.

Here is the plot synopsis of the upcoming movie which is to hit theatres in May:

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6. Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Building on the worldwide blockbuster success of Fast Five and taking the action, stunts and narrative to even greater heights, Fast & Furious 6 sees director Justin Lin back behind the camera for the fourth time. He is supported by longtime producers Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel, who welcome producer Clayton Townsend back to the series.

“Fast and Furious 6” is a follow-up to highly successful “Fast Five” which scored about $626 million worldwide after its release in April of 2011.

As The Huffington Post informs, the “Fast and Furious” franchise has earned over $1.5 billion at the global box office.
