Looks likes there’s another mouth to feed on the way in the Cruz-Bardem household.
Spanish diva, Penelope Cruz, is about to be a mom again!
The “To Rome, with Love” actress, 38, and husband Javier Bardem, 43, are adding a second child to their brood.
The Spanish beauty has been spotted recently with a fuller figure and sources close to the star confirm that she is indeed pregnant, says the NY Post.
Cruz gave birth to the couple’s first child, son Leonardo Encinas Bardem, in Jan. 2011, six months after she and Bardem tied the knot.
The couple wedded back in July 2010 in a very private ceremony in the Bahamas having been together for around three years prior. They first met in 1992 on the set of Penelope’s first film, and the film that began the pair’s rise to the top of Hollywood, Jamón Jamón. Famously private about their personal life, neither of the acting couple have made any comment on the good news. Congrats to them!
The brunette beauty opened up to Vogue last year about how motherhood has truly changed her.
“From the first second, you feel so much love,” she gushed in the magazine’s June 2011 issue.
“It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”
Reportedly, the 38-year-old actress is “around three months” pregnant, as one of the sources report, noting that Penélope is especially happy because her sister Monica Cruz is also pregnant.
Monica Cruz announced she is expecting her first child via an anonymous sperm donor a few weeks ago. The Spanish sisters have worked together in the past. Last year, they created a collection for luxury lingerie company Agent Pvovocateur. No due date is available for either one.
Monica has been open about expecting a baby, sharing her news on her blog for the Spanish newspaper El Pais in a post titled “My Life’s Dream,” reports the USA Today.
“So I’ve decided to talk about it: I have resorted to artificial insemination in order to get pregnant,” wrote Monica, 35, noting that although she would have preferred to find her dream partner, it came down to timing.
Cruz and Bardem will act together in supporting roles in the upcoming Ridley Scott film “The Counselor,” which is set for a November release.
Cruz, 38, won a best supporting actress Oscar for her role as an impetuous artist in Woody Allen’s 2008 comedy “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” while Bardem, 43, earned a best supporting actor Oscar in the 2007 drama “No Country for Old Men.”
Earlier this year Penelope made her first and onlypublic appearance on the red carpet of the Venuto al Mondo premiere in the Spanish capital of Madrid on January 10.
Wearing a very looseblack dress and coat, easily concealing any potential baby bumps, Cruz did raise some eyebrows over her outfit choice but little else was made about it. Clearly, Cruz is both practical and glamourous when it comes to getting dressed up, not to mention a little crafty.
