Is Selena Gomez better after breakup? You better Beliebe it! The “Who Says” singer, 20, chatted with E! News Tuesday, Jan. 29 about how she’s doing since splitting from boyfriend Justin Bieber after two years of dating.

During a dinner at Soho House celebrating her Nylon magazine cover, E! Online asked Selena if she too was having a hard time coping with the split.

“I’ve been recording, having a lot of fun with my girlfriends, having a good time.”

Looking sexy on the cover of the February issue of Nylon, Selena was all smiles at the swanky Soho House where she enjoyed an intimate dinner with her friends. The party, hosted by Nylonand Coach, also raised money for Selena’s favorite charity — UNICEF, reports Hollywood Life.

Using music as a way to channel any feelings, good or bad, she might have for the Baby singer, Selena took to a Los Angeles based studio on Tuesday.

“I’m having a lot of fun expressing everything that I’m feeling,” she told E! Online.

“I’ve been telling people I’m definitely a little bit more sassy now,” she added. “I’m a little bit more mouthy.”

Working with producers and songwriters Rock Mafia, the 20-year-old gave her Twitter followers an exclusive look at her recording session.

Hinting at what could be a ballad based on her two year union with Justin, on Monday Selena tweeted: ‘It’s a sad, sad serenade @rock_mafia’.

The tweet was accompanied by the above picture that showed her sitting on a chair in a recording studio in LA, in rapture with one arm raised and eyes closed!

Gomez already cryptically covered Justin Timberlake’s breakup song “Cry Me a River” during a private concert on Jan. 19 – two months after Bieber himself covered the song at his own concert – but she may have her own Bieber-related songs to come, says the Us Magazine.

Aside from edgier tunes, the starlet is excited for people to see her risqué role in Spring Breakers.

“I think people are used to seeing me in a certain way,” she said. “I think it will be a little shocking for people, but in a good way. The movie as a whole is a lot to take in, and I’ve definitely expressed that to my younger fans.”

Selena is definitely having fun and copying with her break-up successfully. Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, Justin has been struggling to keep up a happy appearance.

He has been entangled in more drama than usual, including allegedly grabbing a fan’s boob, staying up all hours of the night and spending too much time with Lil Twist.

Justin Bieber recently told Billboard during an interview, “I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been. I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”

On Jan. 29, Justin took to Twitter to defend himself, writing, “alot of bs has been out there lately…seems like it never stops. answering for myself thru music.”
