Chris Brown and Frank Ocean ended up coming to blows on Sunday night over a car parking space, according to reports.
“He’s desirous of prosecution,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Daily News, referring to Ocean.
The violent scuffle was over a parking space, Whitmore said.
Police were called to the incident at Westlake Recording studio in LA, which allegedly left Ocean nursing an injured hand.
“Got jumped by Chris and a couple of guys. lol,” Ocean tweeted, adding: “Cut my hand now I can’t play with two hands at the grammys.”
A source close to Ocean told this column Monday that Brown’s “still rampant homophobia is a big contributor to all this” — claiming Brown hurled an anti-gay comment at Ocean in the midst of the brawl.
However, insiders close to Brown insist that it was Ocean who started the brawl after the Channel Orange star blocked him in the car park.
According to some sources, Ocean said: “This is my studio, this is my parking spot.” It is alleged that “one of Frank’s people” then attacked Brown when he went to shake hands with Ocean.
The insider from Hollywood Life said, “Yeah, Chris’ car or whatever car he was rolling in was in a reserved spot. But no one was blocking him and security told him he couldn’t park there and that’s when some fool from his crew got wild and started acting crazy and tripping out on everybody.
It was just crazy because they know better but they are so hood and it makes no sense. It’s sad.”
Brown, 23, who is still on probation for beating up then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, was one of six men allegedly fighting at the Westlake Studio in West Hollywood around 8 p.m., he explained.
On Jan. 28, Karrueche Tran, Brown’s ex-girlfriend, 24, bluntly tweeted, “Don’t be so quick to assume.” While the tweet is rather vague, we’re pretty sure she’s commenting on allegations of Chris’ nasty behavior during the fight.
Frank Ocean was nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Record of the Year, while Brown was nominated for one.
At this year’s ceremony, Brown may be performing a duet with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, with whom he has an extremely troubled Grammys history.
The singers, Rihanna and Brown, have reportedly rekindled their romance, appearing in public together and tweeting intimate photos in recent weeks.
For his part, Brown has been silent on the social media site about the situation. Police are reportedly looking to speak with him about the incident, although neither party wishes to press charges, says the Time.
Actually the 25-year-old Ocean been virtually feuding with Brown for months, reports the NY Daily News.
The quarrel started in 2011 when Brown described Ocean as a successor to at least one R&B singer-songwriter who wrote for him in the past: James Fauntleroy II.
“I f— with Frank Ocean! Reminds me of a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin (Cossom),” Brown tweeted.
Ocean took offense and responded by saying Brown reminded him of a young Ike Turner, the singer famous for beating his wife, Tina Turner.
