Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are adamant they aren’t dating, despite their crazy on-screen chemistry and rumors of romance.

Twice co-stars and the onscreen couple that everyone wants to believe is dating in real life, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have the rumor mill turning, especially with the news that Lawrence split from longtime boyfriend Nicholas Hoult and public declarations of love/like:

“And Bradley, the first time that we ever did a scene together, you took my breath away and the first time I saw the movie, you broke my heart and put it back together again.”

They’re actually just friends.

“Oh my God. That’s very funny,” Cooper said when asked if he was dating Lawrence. “No, my God. No.” “We’ve done two movies together,” he added, of their upcoming film Serena. “If it didn’t happen by now, it’s not going to happen.”

When Nancy O’Dell pushed for more, the actor, 38, added, “No, no, no, no, no. Not even close. First of all, I could be her father. No, I’m kidding. But no, not even close.”

When Nancy O’Dell pushed for more, the actor, 38, added, “No, no, no, no, no. Not even close. First of all, I could be her father. No, I’m kidding. But no, not even close.”

He concluded: “I could literally be her father.”

Still, the pair certainly looked flirty inside the star-studded ballroom at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The two giggled and kept close as they sat side by side and Bradley flashing a big smile as they chatted, reports the Daily Mail.

However, backstage Bradley was in denial all the way that there was anything romantic between him and Jennifer.

Lawrence, 22, split from boyfriend Nicholas Hoult last week after two years of dating. Cooper broke up with actress Zoe Saldana for a second time just before the holidays. The two initially split in March 2012 after three months of dating, but then rekindled their romance later that fall.

“I love her to death,” Cooper said of Lawrence. “She’s amazing, but no.”

Lawrence later laughed at the denial.

“True. I agree. I concur,” she said when informed of Cooper’s remarks.

She also said she was battling a 100-degree fever to attend the awards extravaganza.

“It’s the flu,” she confessed before heading inside to hang with Cooper for much of the show. “I had the doctor come over and give me a shot of something in my butt today and tell me I had the flu.”

The NY Daily News reports that Lawrence went on to win Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her performance in “Silver Linings Playbook,” beating out Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Emily Blunt and Maggie Smith.

Cooper snagged a Best Actor nomination for his work in the David O. Russell film but lost to Hugh Jackman, who won for “Les Miserables.”

Bradley, in fact, arrived to the ceremony solo, looking debonair in black tuxedo and shiny black shoes. With the Oscars only a month away, Bradley promised his mother Gloria a long time ago that she would be his plus one.

Jennifer was a vision to behold in her regal red gown, and proved herself quite a stand-up comedienne as well.
