Candice Swanepoel Lands Victoria’s Secret ‘Swim 2013′ Catalogue Cover

NEW YORK | Friday, January 4th, 2013 7:56pm EDT

This year it looks like sultry South African Angel, Candice Swanepoel, was given the honor for the third time in a row to cover Victoria’s Secret annual “Swim 2013″ – wearing the new Very Sexy Bandeau bikini, ‘a retro inspired’ push-up.

While most of the country is hiding from cold temps, the Victoria’s Secret Angels are heating things up!

The cover of the Victoria’s Secret annual Swim Catalog is like the Fantasy Bra of the brand’s yearly Runway Show. It’s a coveted spot that the Angel’s compete for every season.

Apparently the Victoria’s Secret annual “Swim 2013″ catalog is starting to treat its cover model reveal like the Sports Illustrated one. This year’s bathing beauty gracing the VS cover is none other than Candice Swanepoel, who arrived with her stunning baby blues in everyone’s mailboxes Thursday (Jan. 3).

A beauty from South Africa, Candace Swanepoel has been named the Victoria’s Secret swim catalogue cover girl for the third year in a row. The blonde also scored the Swim cover in 2012 and 2011, which seems a little unfair to Behati, Miranda and the rest but we have no say in these things.

In 2012 she was named No. 10 on Forbes list of highest-earning models.

Candice and the rest of the models (including Karlie Kloss!) posed for the catalog shoot in Turks and Caicos and Miami, snapped by photographer Russell James, says the Huff Post.

Swanepoel says it was a ton of fun shooting the new swimsuit lines.

The catalog features swimsuits ‘inspired by old Hollywood, glamorous starlets and their chic escapes to the most luxurious destinations in the world,’ says the brand in a statement.

The model told the People magazine: “It was such an honor to be picked for the cover.”

The 24-year-old continued: “It is such an iconic catalogue. Before I was a model, I used to see Gisele Bündchen, Tyra Banks and all of those iconic women on it. It is amazing that a little South African girl can get on the cover.”

She added: “For me, doing swim, it’s the best part of being a Victoria’s Secret Angel because I love the sun and the ocean.”

In her big shot, Swanepoel wears a Very Sexy bandeau top — one Victoria’s Secret’s newest offerings for 2013 (in stores and online today).

“I love it — it’s so sexy and gives me amazing cleavage,” the model shares.

Victoria’s Secret is like a big family,” Candice explains. “The swim shoots are always really fun, and I love being on the beach. I can’t really complain [about my job] — I feel very lucky!”

Victoria’s Secret posted the cover photo on Facebook this week, stating simply, “The sexiest swim season ever starts now…. Swim 2013. In homes now.” If only the warm weather and cute swimsuits were in our homes right now, too.

This year, the company is offering a little something extra for swim fans in the form of the new Angels & Artists video series, which basically pairs hot songs with hot models in bikinis, the People reports.

The first clip in the series, “Bikinis & Bruno Mars”, features Swanepoel and Doutzen Kroes making waves to the tune of Mars’s “Locked Out of Heaven.” Additional videos featuring music and models will be released throughout swimsuit season.

If this catalogue leaves you wanting more, you’re in luck: three more catalogues, shot in Tulum and St. Barts, will hit mailboxes throughout the season.
