Britney Spears Displays Her ‘X Factor’ in Will.i.am’s ‘Scream and Shout’ [Video]

Britney Spears and will.i.am debuted the video for “Scream and Shout,” their new club-ready track that’s light on lyrics and relies on one smart sample.

Gird your loins, Britney Spears fans – girl is back to the music video world, and she is looking damn good.

The 31-year-old singer hooked up with Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am for a new dance song, “Scream and Shout,” off Will.i.am’s upcoming fourth studio album,Willpower, due out in 2013.

American pop princess isn’t the only A-lister to appear on the album – Mick Jagger, Jennifer Lopez, and Justin Bieber (and that’s the short list) were also among collaborators. The pair debuted the “Scream and Shout” video on “X Factor” on Wednesday night.

MTV says, the glamour-meter was turned up to 100 in the almost exclusively black-and-gold music video, with Spears sporting teased Brigitte Bardot hair and Will.i.am dripping in jewelry.

If anyone doubted her enduring sex appeal, Spears proved she’s still got it, despite some troubles of hers in the fashion department, wearing a midriff-baring bodycon dress (still showing off her tummy, 13 years after her breakthrough “…Baby One More Time” video!) and a corseted leotard accented with feathers in later scenes.

Images of triangles, burning disco balls, an exploding Lamborghini and a confetti-shooting gun appeared throughout the video, and Brit and will were joined by a handful of dance crews in the crowded clip.

The video actually isn’t too crazy, though it does have a fun, futuristic kind of vibe to it … and Britney Spears using an English accent for some reason. She also brings back her “Britney, bitch” tagline, so that’s good, says the Hollywood Gossip.

The clip, which has a fine mix of dance moves and futuristic sets, matches the track’s upbeat club tune. It also shows a very glammed-up Spears hitting the dance floor in multiplicity effects.

Even though Spears is the very picture of confidence in the “Scream and Shout” video, directed by Ben Mor (Katy Perry’s “Part of Me,” Black Eyed Peas’ “Meet Me Halfway”), she looked a little anxious about it being shown during “X Factor,” giving an embarrassed smile once the minute-long preview finished.

Will.i.am. commented on working with Britney: “Working with an artist like Britney is the reason I love making music.”

He added: “She loves music as much as I do. And I am so proud of this new song ‘Scream & Shout.’ This is the most exciting song I’ve worked on in a long time.”

Spears wrote in her Twitter: “Thank u @iamwill for being such an inspiration & dream to work with. Tonight is a big moment 4 us & the amazing fans :)”

Spears and Will.i.am last worked together in 2011 on Femme Fatale track “Big Fat Bass.”  Host Khloe Kardashian asked Spears how it was like working again with will and the singer replied, “He’s like a big kid to work with. He’s so much fun. We had a lot of fun.”

Britney was equally excited about the collabo, with the “X Factor” judge gushing: “There are few people on the planet who inspire me like Will.i.am does. I couldn’t be more excited to work with him again. I can’t wait for people to hear the song and see the video.”
