Colin Farrell, Beyonce, Amanda Seyfried in New ‘Epic’ Trailer [Video]

A new trailer for 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky’s ‘Epic’ has arrived, featuring all-star voice cast which includes Amanda Seyfried, Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis and many more.

Call it escapism or call it just plain fun, but a crop of upcoming big-screen experiences are full of fantasy for kids and adults alike. We’re well used to stars lining up to voice cartoon characters but this stellar ensemble takes the biscuit!

20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios have set its voice cast for Epic, the new 3D CG-animated film by the makers of Ice Age, Rio and Robots. The project is directed by Ice Age’s Chris Wedge, and a script is written by Daniel Shere.

At first the film had been developed under the title Leafmen. Lori Forte and Jerry Davis are both set as producers of the movie. This family the 3-D film is based on William Joyce’s children’s book called “The Leaf Men.”

Epic tells the story of a teenage girl who finds herself magically  transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place.

She bands together with a rag-tag group of whimsical characters in order to save their world and ours. It sounds like one amazing adventure you won’t want to miss!

Colin Farrell, stunning Beyoncé, “Les Miserables” starlet Amanda Seyfried, the Hunger Games ‘Josh Hutcherson  and “Jackass”Johnny Knoxville are among the voice talent of the upcoming animated project.

Dead Line reposts, that the actor  Josh Hutcherson gave this voice to Nod, Amanda Seyfried talks for  Mary Katherine, Beyoncé Knowles is Queen Tara, Johnny Knoxville as Mandrake.

Other voices will be represented by Aziz Ansari as Mub, rapper Pitbull as Bufo, Jason Sudeikis as Bomba, and Aerosmith and American Idol frontman Steven Tyler as Nim Galuu.

Also in the projects will appear such actors as Christoph Waltz, Blake Anderson  & Judah Friedlander, who gave their voice talent of the upcoming animated project. It is a real all stars cast movie.

20th Century Fox will be bringing Blue Sky’s Epic to theaters in 3D next summer starting May 24th, 2013 in the UK and the U.S.

The first trailer for Blue Sky Animation’s Epic (once known as ‘The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs,’ or just ‘Leafmen’) used a Snow Patrol song to great effect with some beautiful animation, and now we get a better idea of the story in this animated, well, epic.

Honestly, there are some shots here that are breathtaking, but it’s  not quiet clear how the sillier dialogue will play along with it, says First Showing.

And for Beyonce Knowles  this  becomes the first movie project since she took time off for maternity leave. It was also reported that she was attached to star in the Clint Eastwood-directed remake of A Star Is Born for Warner Bros. However Beyonce won’t be following in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland after all.

Actually Knowles was forced to exit the role given her packed schedule.  Without a firm start date for A Star Is Born, it was getting too difficult for her to schedule other projects/ventures.

Eastwood is now apparently interested in Grammy-winning jazz musician Esperanza Spalding to take over the role, though no discussions or offers will be made until the director nails down his male lead.
