Lindsay Lohan Going Back to Jail for ‘Lying to Police’

The 26-year-old troubled starlet’s probation is to be revoked in the next few days.

The actress lied to Santa Monica police this summer, claiming that she was not driving her Porsche when it slammed into an 18-wheeler on Pacific Coast Highway.

According to Examiner, the crime of lying to authorities will be filed as a misdemeanor by the Santa Monica City Attorney within the next few days. This could become a great problem for the ‘Mean Girl’ actress as she’s still on probation for her necklace theft.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed to reporters that when the Santa Monica City Attorney files the case against Lohan, it will go to L.A. County Superior Court Judge Jane Godfrey for arraignment.

Judge Godfrey will likely revoke Lohan’s probation and set the matter for a full hearing, on the grounds she violated her probation in the jewelry theft case by breaking the law.

The 26-year-old has been on probation since being found guilty of stealing a necklace last year, for which she was sentenced to 120 days in prison and 480 hours of community service.

The starlet has recently cancelled an interview with Barbara Walters after a tough few months, which also saw her accuse mother Dina Lohan of taking cocaine and foil an intervention attempt by her father Michael Lohan.

Friends close to Lohan previously revealed that she was “terrified” about her probation being revoked as she is trying to get her life back on track, doing a lot of promotion for her Lifetime TV movie about Elizabeth Taylor.

However, yesterday saw the news that poor Lohan had been slammed by movie reviewers for her acting in the upcoming movie.

“But poor Linds doesn’t stand a chance. As seen here, her skills are rudimentary – made rustier by a long absence and a lot of other extra-curricular activities,” one critic wrote.

“She delivers lines dutifully, competently, and at times woodenly, but she also looks like someone who has to think about what she has to say before she says it.”

Tim Goodman of The Hollywood Reporter claims that the actress has only through make-up and wardrobe inspired even the slightest resemblance of Taylor.

The writer went on, adding that Lohan’s version of the legendary actress is “unbearably hilarious” and it’s an “instant classic of unintentional hilarity”.

“Lohan as Taylor was a bad idea in the dramatic sense, but it’s pure genius both for marketing and for belly laughs and drinking games,” he said.

Lohan has previously said of her role in the movie: “I fought to get the role in Liz & Dick because I related to her so much because of her position in the public eye and the media obsession with her, and the ups and downs in her relationships and life. And that’s aside from her love for diamonds!”

The actress started her carrier in childhood as a fashion model and soon she appeared in her first film at 11.

Taylor, who died last year at the age of 79, made her first film when she was nine years old. Two of her eight marriages were to Burton, the Welsh screen heart-throb with whom she also co-starred 11 times on screen.
