Sienna Miller has already delivered a baby, but she made her pregnancy immortal as she was showed by artist Jonathan Yeo in a nude portrait.
The piece of art, which features the completely naked Hollywood star exposing her baby bump, is to be shown at the painter’s “(I’ve Got You) Under My Skin” exhibition in Berlin.
Yeo said the portrait of Miller, who decided to sit for the British artist just weeks before the birth of her daughter Marlowe, “epitomized the human body in its most naturally beautiful state.”
He added, “It’s been 22 years since a pregnant Demi Moore caused uproar by posing for Annie Leibovitz on the cover of Vanity Fair.”
“In that time society has become almost completely desensitized to the daily exposure to people who have surgically distorted their appearance for artificial reasons,” said Yeo.
He continued, “Yet certain sections of society are still uncomfortable with the appearance of pregnancy and images of naked expectant mothers are rarely seen.”
Yeo went on to note, “The power of the painting partly lies in the fact that Sienna is widely regarded as being one of the most naturally beautiful actresses in the world as well as being a fashion icon to a generation of girls.”
The artist explained: “It is a tribute to her courage and self-confidence that she agreed to sit for this. I can think of many figures whose public currency in part revolves around their appearance, who would prefer to hide themselves away for nine months.”
(I’ve Got You) Under My Skin is scheduled to open from Friday November 9, 2012 until Saturday January 12, 2013 at the Circle Culture Gallery in Berlin. A selection of works from the artist will also go on display at the National Portrait Gallery in autumn next year.
The 30-year-old Miller, gave birth to daughter Marlowe in July, and now she is not eager to return to her skinny jeans if it means taking a risk with crash dieting.
A source familiar with the matter told reporters last month: “After a few weeks, she wanted to get back to her old self and booked in a hair appointment and spa day.”
“She knows fad diets don’t really work and it’s just about eating healthily and watching her calorie intake, so she’s been keeping carbs to a minimum and trying not to snack at all.”
It seems like the star realises it will take a good amount of time before she returns to her slim bidy, and doesn’t want to much too much pressure on herself.
“She says there’s still a bit of a bump and loose skin on her stomach – it’ll be a while before she’s confident getting into a bikini,” the insider added.
Miller set to promote HBO’s The Girl, in which she stars as Tippi Hedren, but to make life easier Sienna has taken on an extra pair of hands to help her, reports Entertainment Wise.
“I have a great job because my baby can come to work with me,” she said.
“We’ve been the three of us and that’s been fantastic. And now I have to do some work.”
