According to a recent report of Gossip Cop, Channing Tatum, 32, will be announced by People Magazine as the “Sexiest Man Alive” on Nov. 14 – but the publication is keeping mum for now.

“We never comment on who the Sexiest Man Alive is until the issue is revealed,” a rep for People told reporters.

In case the actor takes home the highly-coveted title, he will be included into a long list of the world’s top hottest Hollywood hunks, such as George Clooney and Brad Pitt – who’ve earned the title twice — and Mel Gibson, who was the first winner in 1985.

The final nominees for the 39th annual People’s Choice Awards won’t be announced until Nov. 15, but the polls are now open for fans to vote for their favorites in the preliminary nominating rounds.

Besides Tatum, the list of early nominees for Favorite Movie Actor also includes Ryan Reynolds, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Denzel Washington, while those mentioned in the category of Favorite Movie Actress includes Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Emma Stone and Gabrielle Union.

Films competing to receive People’s Choice Award nods include The Hunger Games, Magic Mike, Argo and The Dark Knight Rises.

Last year People Magazine decided that Bradley Cooper is the sexiest man, while Ryan Reynolds was announced the hottest man in 2010.

Cooper has even weighed-in, giving his nominations for who should take over the role — his Hangover co-star Zach Galifianakis.

“He should be [the next Sexiest Man Alive]… He’s very sexy,” Cooper told reporters at the AFI premiere of his film Silver Linings Playbook.

The sexiest man 2012 gave other nod to an actor who was honored with the title 13 years ago. “Maybe [Richard Gere],” he suggested. ”He’s sexy. You could take it from there.” However, when asked about his reign coming to an end, the Hangover star said, “I’m gonna cry.”

The news about the possible nomination of the Magic Mike actor comes soon after the Internet saw news that the actor and his long-time buddy Keith Kurtz opened his own Bourbon Street Bar.

“The most recent one that everybody likes is Magic Mike.  The one where we all came here and worked and lived together for a few months, where Jenna and Chan and I came up with the idea, was 21 Jump Street,” Kurtz said.

Channing Tatum and his Step-up co-star and wife Jenna Dewan dressed up for the grand opening of his new Bourbon Street bar Saints & Sinners in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two were joined by Jason Statham and his gorgeous girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Channing has previously told reporters, “I don’t think I’d ever open a bar anywhere else really, because I don’t want to try to get people there. But people come to New Orleans with a little bit of money in their pocket and they have one thing they want to do with it — and that’s spend it and party with it and go crazy. And I want to help facilitate that.”
