Victoria’s Secret’s $2.5M Floral Fantasy Bra: Behind the Scenes [Video]

Hear why wearing this year’s fantasy bra is a dream fulfilled for VS’s angel Alessandra Ambrosio, and get a carat-by-carat look at the Floral Fantasy Bra Gift Set and the Bombshell Fantasy Fragrance, designed exclusively for Victoria’s Secret by London Jewelers of New York.

Victoria’s Secret’s supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has been working with the company for 11 years, patiently waiting her turn to wear the highly-coveted Fantasy Bra, an honor reserved for the lingerie giant’s Angels.

In behind-the-scenes video above for the Victoria’s Secret’s bra catalog shoot, the 31-year-old supermodel says: “I’ve been waiting to wear this bra for like, 11 years,” before bursting into song of “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friends.”

The new mother, who gave birth to her son Noah earlier this year, added: “It’s such an honor, I’ve been working with Victoria’s Secret for years, and this is the first time they chose, me!”

She continued: “It’s such a big deal, I shot the bra for the catalog, and will wear it on the runway for the 2012 Victoria’s Secret show. The moment I saw this beautiful mansion, I was like, ‘Ok, now I get it, why we came here to shoot this amazing piece of…art.'”

Designed by New Jersey-based London Jewelers, the Fantasy Bra is built on the company’s ‘Very Sexy’ push up bra, ‘our classic bra,’  Alessandra said. “Its built with 18-carat pink and yellow gold, with a white 20-carat radiant cut diamond,” she says while smiling.

The Floral Fantasy Bra Gift Set, which the model explains is ‘no better gift for the holidays’ features the Very Sexy push-up bra studded with amethysts, sapphires and rubies, with the floral 20-carat diamond centerpiece; as well as the matching belt, which sparkles with a further 5,200 precious stones.

“It was perfect for me,”  Alessandra  said of the set, designed by London Jewelers (who did last year’s bra, modeled by another VS’s angel – Miranda Kerr). “I felt they made it for me. It’s very romantic.”

Alessandra Ambrosio has admitted she was nervous when she heard she had been chosen to model the grand finale bra in Victoria’s Secret catwalk show this year. She said the news, which she received in late May, put her under immense pressure to get back into shape after the birth of Noah.

In a recent interview, she told People Magazine that she had been breastfeeding when she took the call. “I just wanted to scream,” she said. “But I won’t lie, I was really worried. I was in total mother mode.”

As soon as Ambrosio’s doctor gave her permission to set to work, the brunette also mother to daughter Anja, 4, started shedding the baby weight. The model-mom, who welcomed her 2nd child with fiance Jamie Mazur back in May, began with yoga and walking, turning up her routine after 60 days and added daily sessions of pilates and spin for cardio.

The lifestyle in LA, where she and her family spent the summer, also helped her tone up. “I was playing a lot of volleyball on the beach, swimming and running after my kids. And breastfeeding always helps me.”

She went on, adding that keeping healthy during her latest pregnancy was key; she stuck to fresh green juices, salads and fish, a diet she’s continued with the occasional splurge of pizza or ice cream. “My daughter loves cupcakes so we’ll share … but only sometimes!”

The model assures that she feels so ready for the big day, nerves aren’t even an issue. “I’m pretty calm,” she says. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.” Don’t miss Ambrosio on the runway at the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which is scheduled on December 4th on CBS.
