“For the first time in my life I’m content,” she told Esquire magazine. “I’m so excited. Getting older is the best part of life. Like, I know more than I’ve ever known.”
She continued: “I have gratitude. I know myself better. I feel more capable than ever. And as far as the physicality of it, I feel better at 40 than I did at 25.”
The sultry Charlie’s Angels star demonstrated her confidence in her looks by posing revealingly for the magazine.
The 40-year-old keeps her figure in tonus due to regular Pilates sessions and has always denied rumors she uses Botox anti-wrinkle injections, despite her smooth complexion, The Daily Mail reports.
She said: “There’s no such thing as anti-ageing. You can’t go back in time. So for me, it’s about living in this moment, the best that I can. Contentment is about coming to terms with life as it is.”
Cameron, who has been linked to a string of Hollywood’s most wanted bachelors including Justin Timberlake and baseball star Alex Rodriguez, admits that marriage is not the first thing on her mind.
“It’s hard to say. It just wasn’t the thing I was drawn to. I certainly didn’t want it in my 20s. Or my 30s. So we’ll see.”
She went on, adding: “I’d always wanted to get hitched in Vegas at least three times,” said the actress who ironically starred in What Happens In Vegas where she gets hitched to Ashton Kutcher after a drunken night out.”
“It’s funny because as my girlfriends get older, I see how their relationships have evolved, and you know, the people you’re drawn to changes. I’m not attracted to the same people that I was drawn to in my 20s.”
The interview with Esquire magazine comes a few days after Diaz was reportedly linked to now single Hollywood star Tom Cruise.
An insider told reporters that the actor has been crushing on his Vanilla Sky co-star ever since they reconnected at her 40th B-Day party in August.
He said: “Tom and Cameron get on really well. Tom thinks Cameron is beautiful, intelligent and a lot of fun. He’d love for them to be more than friends. Tom’s felt so low since his divorce and Cameron’s company has really cheered him up.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Diaz revealed: “Cameron loves spending time with Tom, but in many ways she sees him as a brother figure. At the moment she’s just enjoying reconnecting with an old friend.”
However, the rumors quickly stopped as Cruise’s representative released a statement, which read: “It’s false. They are friends.”
The blonde has been previously vocal about enjoying working alongside her friend Tom Cruise, Entertainment Wise writes.
“He has a very high standard,” Diaz told Oprah Winfrey in 2010. “So that’s a wonderful thing. That’s what you know you’re getting when you’re working with Tom.”
“You know that you’re getting someone who is dedicated to bringing the best product forward possible, and to do that, you have to be engaged in the process.”
Diaz started her star career as a fashion model before rising to fame in a series of comedies in the 1990s, including There’s Something About Mary. This year she starred in the romantic comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
