According to TMZ, Cyrus tried to stop a potential fight occurring between a man and her finance, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.
The two were having a good time at the Beacher’s Madhouse nightclub when the man and his friends bumped their chairs into the “Hunger Games” hunk.
Things escalated and Cyrus hopped to stop the upcoming conflict, allegedly pushing the man in his face but her spokesperson later told the website that the claims were ‘completely false and erroneous.’
The alleged victim, who filed a police report early on Sunday, insists that he accidentally bumped into Hemsworth’s chair and that words were exchanged before an argument erupted.
“Miley, her boyfriend and the victim were talking and an argument ensued. Miley pushed the victim and struck the victim in the face,” Officer Rosario Herrera told reporters, referring to the unidentified man’s claims.
“There were no visible injuries and no arrests made,” she said. “The victim came to the station (to file the report). It’s an ongoing investigation.”
However, eyewitnesses stuck up for Cyrus and her beau, assuring that the former Hannah Montana star never threw a punch. Neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth has commented on the incident yet.
The news comes a week after a man was arrested at Cyrus’ home holding a pair of scissors. The man, Jason Luis Rivera, was charged overnight with two counts of trespassing and one count of resisting arrest, reports The Herald Sun.
As a local news channel says, the intruder had been sitting in the garden lighting candles and ignoring requests to leave. The actress was not home at the time of the incident.
“I’m a friend of Miley Cyrus,” the man mumbled, seeming spaced out. “I am. Me and Miley have been friends for five years.”
He told authorities he and 19-year-old teen had been secretly married for years, ABC News Los Angeles station KABC-TV reports.
The 40-year-old is due to be arraigned today. Jail records show the 40-year-old is currently being held on $US1000 bail ($960).
Last month saw a piece of news that police responded to a report of a possible robbery or home invasion at Cyrus’ home. Officers later determined it was a false alarm.
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is working on her ‘Biggest Album’ before wedding planning. “[First] this record — the biggest record I’ve ever had — then I’ll do wedding planning,” she told MTV.
The 19-year-old ended up getting glammed up in a sleek black number and channeling a cross between Pink and Gwen Stefani.
Cyrus’s next move will be her will return to television with a recurring role on CBS’s hit sitcom “Two and a Half Men.”
She’ll play an old friend of Ashton Kutcher’s character who in town for a week and ends up developing a relationship with Angus T. Jones’ character. Cyrus also stars in the movie “So Undercover,” which is scheduled to hit theaters in limited release on October 5.
