Just a day after the news broke that Gillian Anderson had split with her long-term partner, comes a report that she’s dating her old X-Files co-star David Duchovny.

A source allegedly told Celebrity Dirty Laundry that David and Gillian have been in a serious relationship for some time now and that the 44-year-old actress has even moved her two children in with the 52-year-old “Californication” star.

According to The Huff Post, the pair have known each other for nearly two decades, working together on “The X-Files” for nine seasons and two feature films as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Although every fan in the world wanted to get the two together, a relationship was never declared during filming.

Duchovny married actress Tea Leoni in 1997. The couple separated  in 2008 while the actor underwent treatment for sex addiction, but appear to have later reconciled — temporarily, writes International Business Times. While some reports allege that their marriage ended in 2011, they have yet to announce their divorce.

Anderson married twice and had one child with her first husband and two more with Griffiths. She did not have children with her second husband, Julian Ozanne.

However, Celebrity Dirty Laundry‘s “evidence” that the pair are romantically involved is paper thin.

The website quotes an interview Anderson gave to The Sunday Times Magazine a couple weeks ago. It read: “I ask if she has a partner at the moment. Her answer is peculiar. “Um…yes…umm…umm…” There is a long pause. “Say yes,” she stutters finally.”

The website considers these to be “odd answers” and also wonders if Anderson keeps talking to the press about her bisexuality simply to throw the media off the trail when it comes to whom she’s really dating.

However, on Thursday, Celebuzz obtained an exclusive statement from Duchovny’s rep who said that the reports of an “X-Files” romance are “not true.”

Anyway, The Huff Post concludes: “With few facts and no photos, we’re inclined to believe these dating rumors are as much of a hoax as most UFO sightings, although both parties are single — as Duchovny separated from wife Tea Leoni in 2011 and reportedly finalized the divorce quietly earlier this year.”
