Usher’s 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover has been declared brain dead after he and a 15-year-old gal pal were admitted to a hospital following a boating accident Friday, TMZ reports.

Glover, who is the son of Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted into the hospital two days ago.

According to Rolling Stone, Kyle Glover was riding an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, GA Friday when a passing jet skier collided with the boy, striking him in the head and knocking him unconscious.

“Looks like they were just trying to have a good time on the lake and obviously something went wrong,” said Sgt. Mike Burgamy of the Department of Natural Resources.

Glover was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water and airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; his friend, an unidentified 15-year old girl, was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm, writes MTV.

Celebrities showed an outpour of support on Twitter following Usher’s terrible tragedy.

“Everyone PLEASE pray for Usher and Tameka’s son! This is the time they really need your prayers,” singer Fantasia tweeted Saturday.

“My deepest prayers go out to Tameka, Usher and both of their families right now,” Diggy Simmons wrote.

“Praying that Usher and Tameka’s son is ok…” Russell Simmons wrote.

“Wishing @TamekaRaymond’s son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear,” Roots drummer Questlove added, while television personality La La Anthony wrote: “Praying for @TamekaRaymond and her family. Asking to give her and her family strength during this difficult time. Praying for u Kyle.”

The cause of the incident is still under investigation, which could take months to complete, according to NY Daily News.

Officials have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the accident, but Robin Hill, a rep for the Department of Natural Resources (Wildlife Resources Division) said that they will recreate the accident using special computer programs to determine the details.

Foster and Usher (born Usher Raymond) were married in 2007 but divorced in 2009. They have made headlines this year amid a bitter custody dispute over their two children, writes ABC News. The former couple have two children together – Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3.

However, the tragedy brought the singer and his ex-wife together, as the star entertainer chartered a plane for Foster, who was out of town, so she could race to her son’s side.

A decision regarding Kyle’s life support has not yet been made.

For Usher, the incident is the latest in a string of difficult events. Last month Usher had to call 911 and get a restraining order after a trespasser/stalker incident in which a woman got into his gated community, camped out on his front stairs and rang his doorbell repeatedly.

This tragedy also comes a month after Usher released his latest #1 album, Looking 4 Myself.

Based on the results of the investigation, Usher could choose to press charges over the accident.
