Elections 2012: ‘Obama Boy’ Expresses Support for the U.S. President [Video]

Although it is plenty of time until November, it looks like President Obama’s got at least one confirmed vote — Obama Boy, the truly supportive musical artist who put together this hysterical video.

In the video Obama Boy – whose real name is Justin Brown – admits his support for the president, leaving him voicemails and shooting hoops with a cardboard cutout of Obama.

“I can’t wait for my soulmate, Barry you’re the finest candidate,” sings Brown.

While expressing his love for the president, Brown drops several references to Obama’s gay rights record, including the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and his support of gay marriage, writes Stuff.

“You let us serve openly in the military, I’m so jealous of the first lady, gay marriage will soon be the norm, it makes me shiny and warm,” he sings.

By the way, the Obama campaign is enjoying it: Brown wrote on his Facebook wall that “I’ve gotten confirmation that people in the Obama Campaign have seen the video and quote, ‘Are cracking up’.”

John Duarte, who wrote the video, told that he and Justin shot it in New York City, including Coney Island, over three straight days following Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage, Politico reports.

In reaction to the video, Ettinger, aka “The Obama Girl,” said: “Pretty much I think it’s hilarious I’m flattered too! Lol I’ve been waiting for someone to do this and this guy did it :)”

That’s good news for Duarte, who’s hoping for a collaboration. “Maybe we’ll even make a video with Obama Girl and Obama Boy,” he said.

However, Obama Girl, the President’s number one fan in 2008, is having second thoughts. Amber Lee Ettinger has recently revealed that she wasn’t as excited about Obama as she was the first time around.

She also refused to say which candidate had her vote: “Barack Obama was definitely the first Internet President. At this point I’m keeping that to myself. If I’m not making videos, I’m not sure it’s anyone’s business who I’m voting for this time around.”

Ettinger went: “I think in the next few months it’s going to be very interesting to see what happens. I’d like to get out there and see what the young voters think about both candidates … I might need to break out my flip cam and take a road trip.”

Obama girl explained her decision: “It’s definitely a distraction because of the economy being as bad as it is.”

“He did create some jobs, but most of them were government jobs and that doesn’t really help the middle class. But it helps a bit,” the girl added.

Four years ago, Obama Girl supported Barack Obama in a video: “I think he’s doing an OK job,” said Ettinger that time, since 2007 the video has had more than 16.5 million views on YouTube.

“You’re into border security, let’s break this border between you and me,” Ettinger sings in the 2007 video. “You can Barack me tonight, I’ve got a crush on Obama.”

Now the girl has another opinion considering Obama: “I know he’s getting a lot of flak for things that he’s not doing. “In my opinion, I feel like he should be focusing a lot more on jobs and the economy.”
