The 34-year-old said: “I was really young, so I was so uncomfortable. (My boyfriend) Kevin was in the waiting room and I literally started screaming.”

What surprises more is that she told the shock jock she had gone in to be treated for a throat problem, and could not believe it when the doctor began touching her genitals, reports The Daily Mail.

“I was just so uncomfortable I didn’t know what to do,” the “Extra” host revealed.

But while the former Dancing With The Stars contestant was encouraged to report the physician to the police by her boyfriend, she refused to press charges as she didn’t want to make the situation worse.

Actually, it’s not the only case when Maria claims to have been touched inappropriately by medical staff. She accused other physicians, including male gynecologists, citing that they complimented her belly button ring and then touched it.

Having such bad experience the presenter says she is now scared to go into examination rooms alone. So, now in case the “One Tree Hill” star needs treatment for any ailment, her boyfriend accompanies her into the exam room.

Maria is not the only celebrity to reveal they have suffered from abuse. Actress Ashley Judd previously revealed she is the survivor of a brutal rape, an event that took place when she was just a child.

Moreover, the “Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher also said she was raped by a family member when she was just a child.

She decided to come forward with her story when she discovered that her uncle had also raped a 14-year-old girl who later committed suicide, and in 2002, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for raping the teen.

“I didn’t intend to talk about this with you,” Hatcher told in an interview. “But it is something that’s been surfacing with me for the past three years. This is something I’ve tried to hide my whole life.”

She went on: “I kept thinking, if she’d known me, especially me being famous, if I could have said to her, ‘Look, it happened to me!’ If I could just have said to her, ‘You’re going to be OK …’.”

The actress has revealed that she was sexually molested by an uncle when she was 5 years old. She also noted that she later helped put the man behind bars, writes ABC News.

For all of Hatcher’s success, she said of her emotional scars: “I have so much pain. I’m a woman who carries around all these layers of fear and vulnerability. I’m trying to be my powerful me.”

The actress concluded that by sharing her story she might be able to put the ordeal behind her.

“This was a very heavy burden to carry around for all these years,” said an interviewer. “She’s unloading it, getting rid of it. She’s saying, ‘This is who I am, this is how it affected me.’ She’s trying to move beyond it. “
