The anonymous accuser, “John Doe” in court papers, claims that John Travolta tried to initiate a sexual act during a massage inside a private hotel bungalow in Los Angeles, reports The Telegraph.
A second masseur, referred to as “John Doe No. 2”, claims to have been the victim of a similar encounter with the actor during a private massage at a hotel in Atlanta on Jan 28. Each plaintiff is seeking $2 million in damages.
The 14-page law suit, filed Friday in California’s U.S. District Court, charges 58-year-old Travolta with assault, sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Travolta denied all the allegations. His representative said on the matter: “This lawsuit is a complete fiction and fabrication. None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred.”
“The plaintiff, who refuses to give their name, knows that the suit is a baseless lie. It is for that reason that the plaintiff hasn’t been identified with a name even though it is required to do so.”
“On the date when plaintiff claims John met him, John was not in California and it can be proved that he was on the East Coast. Plaintiff’s attorney has filed this suit to try and get his 15 minutes of fame. John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and Plaintiff for malicious prosecution,” the rep said.
However, TMZ obtained proof that Travolta actually wasn’t in California. The website published a receipt for a meal Travolta ate at a restaurant in New York on Jan 16, the date the alleged assault was said to have taken place.
The website also published photos of the actor which prove that the actor was in New York on January 16.
Moreover, the restaurant’s manager confirmed to People: “Yes, Mr Travolta came in for dinner to Mr Chow Tribeca on Jan. 16, 2012.”
“There’s a bunch of accusers against Travolta who have similar accusations,” Okorie Okorocha, the lawyer representing the two men, said. “Many have contacted me, and I’m still vetting their stories. More defendants might come forward soon.”
He said: “I will file for every single victim. Mr Travolta has been able to evade justice, and he’s going to challenge it with me. But I’m not afraid. I’ll stand up to him.”
The lawyer added: “Before the attorney for the two anonymous plaintiffs filed the claim on behalf of the second person, who refuses to disclose his identity although required to do so, it is obvious that he checked media reports that my client was in Atlanta working on a movie.
“This second anonymous claim is just as absurd and ridiculous as the first one. Our client will be fully vindicated in court on both of these absurd and fictional claims.”
In November 2010, Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston welcomed their son Benjamin Hunter Kaleo Travolta into the world. Benjamin is the third child for the couple, who have been married for 20 years.
Travolta and his wife are also parents daughter Ella Bleu, 12. Unfortunately, their eldest child, son Jett, died in January 2009 at age 16 after suffering a seizure.
